You are not alone. Anxiety causes all kinds of brain fog and feeling "not there" or detached. Google depersonalization. I found out a lot doing that. I suffered for years and went to see a therapist. I am much better now. The key is to not focus on those feelings of confusion and other symptoms. Do something you like. Read a good book. I read Christian fiction and literature. Takes your mind away from thinking about yourself.

What do you mean? I would be very aware of my hands on the steering wheel of my car. Feeling invisible and so on.
