Brain Pressure

So just today, I have had extreme lightheadedness and it feels somewhat like my head is heavy or a headache. I am also having problems breathing. The head thing gets worse when I sit or stand up, better when laying down. I'm so scared I could have something wrong internally that's causing this. :( any thoughts on what it could be? It's really driving my anxiety!

You could try monitoring your blood pressure.

Are you getting dehydrated ? Try drinking more water.

Anxiety can give you a headache and alter your breathing.

It sounds like the chicken and the egg...which comes first....

If you are really worried see your GP.

Good luck..I think we've all been there....

My son, 27 years old, contracted the same symptoms as you indicated and after much investigation, it was decided that he had a brain tumour on the pineal gland which has a special reference to speech. As much as could be, they operated and removed as much as they could. It turned out to be a benign tumour and although he came around to be told about the speech ailment and, unfortunately his speech had brought that about. He soon got rid of that by seeing a speech therapist and he is performing better each week. These words are not meant to scare you but please do go and see your GP. Keep me informed.

Yes, a persistent headache for three weeks when it got so painful he went to see his GP.

I went to the doctor and said i have had a headache for 8 days lasting 24/7 everyday and he didn't seem too concerned, he didn't want to do any tests on me and just said it's a tension headache. So the only symptom your son had was headaches? How bad was they do you know?

In the beginning, it was just the persistent headache but he also developed pain in his legs and chest. It was a headache though which made him go to the doctors because ordinarily, he would avoid the doctors. When it was diagnosed the Consultant Oncologist contacted him and he went to see my son at his flat and was not concerned about anything, the matter of the operation would be quick and easy depending on the scans he would have to have done.He had his operation on the Thursday and came home the same day.Hope this information will be of use to you.

They got worse until he went to the GP's who gave him a prescription for some morphine tablets until the hospital took over. Everything was doubled to free the list to have the procedure done two days after consulting his GP.

So glad all is improving.

Hi, a simple question.....have you eaten today?

Sometimes that alone can cause light headedness and headaches. You have received some very good replies, so I really have nothing else to offer other to see your doctor. The more you think about this the more your anxiety is going to enjoy getting worse....and you don't need that. :)

The lightheaded is anxiety and also your breathing too fast or too slow try to calm down and take belly breaths . It too shall pass

I think it is anxiety. I don't think it is good idea for anyone to write back about actual diagnosis of scary things. Obviously, it is always a possibility that everything we feel could be a real medical problem, but reality is we suffer from anxiety and we need to learn to function with the uncertainty of not knowing or we will always be seeking reassurance for everything. I am happy that your son is better John, I think you may have sent some people into panic attack. I am not in any way insinuating that was your purpose. It is just hard when you are talking to people with health anxiety problems.
