Worse feeling ever !

So update to my last post, took my father in to the hospital because he was worried about a cough he had but no fever, and I decided why not get checked as well, as nervous as I was, I went in and saw a doctor in the ER, the asked me the normal questions I was there hooked up to a monitor for a few hours and a nurse came in and did the swob testing on me, few hours go by waiting on shift change and I finally get discharged told that test should come back in 3-7 days and not to leave the house to act as if I had the virus, and of course that set off a whole new amount of racing thoughts in my head, I ended up going to work for 2 hours having to leave because my nerves were all over the place , driving home I got had the worse time trying to breathe and had a tight chest, I’m doing some what better can breathe a little better but still feeling anxious, need some help don’t know what to do

Focus on what you can and cannot control Ray, that’s the best advice I can give you. Maybe try working out a little if possible, then you’ll really see if your lungs are an issue plus you’ll feel good afterwards.

Maybe get into a hobby (i.e. art, music, video games, etc...). Stay off major social media sites and the news, I feel those outlets only worsen your feelings because they always report negative news and not positive. Stay strong, appreciate everything, one luv.

Yeah might need to shut my phone off for a while & read a book or something, feeling kind of anxious now but not as bad as I felt earlier feeling like air wasn’t getting to my lungs but obviously is because I can see my stomach expand & take a deep breath from time to time

So your dad went to ER with suspected corona virus? In the uk they tell us not to go anywhere , they say to self isolate up until you can’t breath , then dial 111 and wait for someone to come to us. If you or you dad had a possibility of having it, wouldn’t you of potentially of spread it to everyone in ER? Just asking how it’s done over there

Only way to be tested over here is drive up ER set up outside the hospital or going directly into the ER to be see, the doctor we both saw doesn’t think it’s that specific virus but my father could have some virus & mine could be due to many things a virus, anxiety, stress or allergies I won’t know until the 3-7 day mark hits and I get a call from the hospital with the results

Thanks for the info . You got it better than us in the uk . We are told to suck it up at home, to only call for help when you are on your last legs

That really sucks, it’s not that much better with the US now passing everyone in confirmed cases, just a really scary time & im only 25 and had some things I was looking forward to like going back into the army & going to a Medical school so the thought of being really sick because of this has me really on edge

Any illness is nasty and no one wants it but it is a fact of life. As you are young and healthy there is no reason why you would get a bad dose of it if you caught it. It's mainly the over 70's especially those with seriously underlying health problems who are in danger. Even then the majority survive it. x

I think maintaining minor symptoms at home is absolutely the right way of managing it or you would get everyone with a sore throat or hay-fever turning up at a and e and spreading the virus. Like Ray8788 has done and to go to work that is Totally irresponsible, get a grip. people are dying because of the actions we all take or don't take. I have anxiety, with underlying reason but would never put others at risk. We can be carrying the virus for 2 weeks without showing signs.... The test you had was pointless because you could have picked up the virus going to the hospital

To be honest , I was thinking the same thing

Hope you feel better soon Ray, I know the feelings your experiencing, I’m currently sat in my living room, I just can’t sleep, my heart is racing and I feel overwhelmed, I suffer with GA and paranoia! I am currently isolating, Enless I have to go to work as I’m a key worker, I must say if you were told to act as though you had the virus, please do not go into work, self isolate is for your safety and everyone else! Stay safe and hope you feel better soon! Sending loads of love xxx

hey rayy, I totally get how u feel ! That was me a couple days ago cuz I was out for a good 2 hours. When I got home I started to feel paranoid bc I thought I had the virus since I was lowkey touching things... I couldn’t sleep even if I tried (i Knocked out out at 4am) but I was giving myself these fake symptoms , my stomach was hurting as well as my chest and I had a headache and my throat felt like it was so dryyyy , I started feeling hot and sweaty , and I was overthinking “oh what if it’s the corona virus doing it’s thing rn” but it’s not and I am fine and I’m sure you’ll be fine too. and even if you do get it you will be fine , stay super hydrated for now!

Yeah I have GERD & I get that weird feeling in the back of my throat as if it’s dry but I literally can fill a shot glass with my saliva (sorry for the graphic thought you might get) and I ended up back in the ER at the Hospital I mainly go to told them everything from getting strayed 2 days ago and all that was going on one doctor said sound exactly like the GERD flaring up again because it’s a little cough nothing continuous so they gave me a GI cocktail which I have a Love/Hate relationship with those things and they took another X-ray and the attending doctor said my lungs were clear and no indication of the virus to go home rest and get out of there so I wouldn’t get the virus from the people who have passed through there so I try to be extra cautious with my hand sanitizer, washing my hands with soap and hot water try as hard as possible not to touch my face usually after I just sanitized my hands that I do touch my nose or eyes just sucks wanting to find things out but and the same time worrying so you then don’t want to hear the results

Sorry you feel this way, and hope you feel better. Try to do something relaxing, and some deep breathing. I also have to say I'm really disappointed to hear how you went to work for 2 hours. Do you work from home? The nurse specifically said do not leave the house and act like you have the virus. So many people go out and spread it to others, because they didn't think they had it or knew they had it but went out anyways.
