Totally cheesed off trying to find out if my prescription is ready to pick up, the Boots pharmacy where I put my prescription in last wednesday (you put it in 7 days before required) are not answering the phone, tried to go onto the Boots website to see if I could get any help there and they are limiting how many people can access it at a time, I am in a waiting list again, if you change the page to go to another section you go back on the waiting list, this is me at the moment (Number of users in queue ahead of you: 145538) because I am attempting to self-isolate because I have copd/emphysema I am starting to feel anxious about having to go to the pharmacy and finding out it is a wasted journey and having to go again, I cannot even ask someone to pick my script up for me as I do not know whether it is ready, I know they are very stretched at the moment but can feel the anxiety building worrying whether I will get my meds

Repeat prescription worry
wow I got a bit anxious as I thought I was going to do without hopefully you got them.
Hi Doggie 124-UK, call your Surgery ! My Pharmacy delivers to me normally and is still doing so. My neighbour who usually gives 3days notice for a Repeat prescription called his Pharmacy to see if it was ready (Boots) for some reason he was always 49 in the queue ,so called his GP his Prescription had been sorted and Boots would be delivering that afternoon ! Apparently during this crisis period most Pharmacies are delivering so as to help Patients keep safe ! But if you are worried contact your GP and ask ! Don't worry you are Not wasting your GPs time they should tell you that themselves! Your GP would rather spend 2 minutes on the phone putting your mind at rest rather than getting a 111call requesting a home visit because of a Panic attack! All the best and good luck. Keep as safe as you can try not to worry as things are going to get better.
Thank you all for your advice and understanding, managed to finally contact the pharmacy and they have arranged a delivery for me on Monday, a big worry off my mind
I get my prescriptions from Boots Chemist Wigan. We. At the doctors we filled in a form so that we could register our emails for ordering our prescriptions on line and they gave us a password to order on line then contacted Boots chemist so they could be our nominated chemist and put them down on our on line doctors account so that made Boots our nominated chemist. Now we order our prescriptions on line at the appropriate date for the repeat prescription, then Boots collect our prescriptions on line and send us a text when our prescriptions are ready to collect. They will also deliver them but there is a charge for this. Boots will order repeat prescriptions for you but we only order what we need as it saves on expensive waste. If you want something not on repeat you can make a special request or maybe you would have to see a doctor. It sounds complicated but when up and running it works quite well. I hope this helps!
