Breast ultrasound - worried

Are three ultrasounds enough to rule out anything sinister? I’ve had this lump in my left breast since (I found it) in March or April. Since then I’ve had about three ultrasounds of it- my most recent being about a month ago. In the midst of a panic attack 😞 initially it was thought to be a Fibroadenoma - that’s what the obgyn thought it was based off feeling it, it does feel like that. - but the ultrasound tech and the radiologist said no Fibroadenoma just fibrocystic change / tissue. All said that... I’m so depressed and anxious and just feel like I can’t move on.

Will they do an MRI? Probably not covered with three negative ultrasounds I bet.

I understand your anxiety. I get that way from a mammogram.

Is it something they can biopsy for reassurance?

It's hard to say without all the details. But those are the other options ive seen done.

How often are they following up on this?

I wasn’t given a follow up plan, oddly. I’ve had three ultrasounds of it in the span of about 6 months. They asked if I wanted an MRI to put this to rest - I could probably ask for a Biopsy - it’s just there’s no lump or anything seen in ultrasound, just fibrous tissue but I do feel a certain spot (although I don’t know if I’ve always had it as I’m 22 and just started feeling my breasts)

I have to wait for my period to come and end - so it’s going to be about two / three weeks :( the anxiety will kill me

You would have to call and discuss with the breast center or wherever you are seen

You have to ask them and see what they say.

I was just thinking since they offered the MRI that I would jump on that.

I did 😔 they said they prefer to do breast MRI right after your period - only up to 10 days after so I’m awaiting my next period.

It’s just the waiting that’s absolutely dreadful 😩

I totally understand. I had my dr feel a cyst one time had to have ultrasound and panicked. All was fine.

Have had to have a couple mammograms that needed to be redone too. It's very scary.

The only thing I could do to offset my anxiety was to keep busy.

I know it's hard.
