I hope this will bring entertainment and/or cringe worthy material for you. Enjoy!
So today was my first on campus college class. I’ve been taking concurrent classes for a year now but they’ve all been online. I thought it was a bright idea and a growing experience to take an on campus class the opposite semester as the rest of my friends. Sounds like a good plan for someone with social anxiety right? Approach new territory ALONE. Anyways back to my story. So being unprepared as always I decided to just buy my books at the book store instead of getting them online days earlier.( I know! Don’t worry it gets better.) The line was very long and when I finally got up to the counter I was a nervous wreck. My first social encounter of the day! Eep! And of course...my card wasn’t working. I didn’t have enough cash and my freaking card wasn’t working. Meanwhile there’s a line of like 50 people behind me waiting to buy their books too. So the cashier has to swipe my card THREE times! I was so freaking embarrassed. Then I rush back to my college class which luckily that went ok. Thank God! But after it was over I had to go back to the book store (did I mention that at my first visit I got yelled at for having my bag which apparently wasn’t allowed in the store? Oh yeah. Yelled at in front of a line of people!) Anyways I get up to the cashier (same one) and my card decides it’s not going to work at all. Decline. Decline. Decline. Luckily I had another card so I used that but I still made an accidental scene. Now here comes the best part of my day! Are you ready?? I get to my car( took forever to find 🙄) and as I’m backing out...I hit the car next to me. It was totally my fault, I can’t blame anyone else. I was too worried about backing into someone driving behind me that I didn’t even pay attention to the front of my car. So I immediately pull back into my spot and call my mom (like a 4 year old calling for mommy lol). She asks me to send a picture of the damage and I do, then of course tells me to leave my info. Now since I didn’t have room in my lap to write the note I used my front seat which means my back was to the car I hit. Well apparently while my back was turned they got in their car and left. Yep. Left. So now I get to live with the fact that someone is driving around with damage I caused! My mom wasn’t mad she just said it’s a part of life and that it’s ok. I honestly wasn’t freaking out as much as I thought I was, I think because I knew it was totally my fault I was able to just settle it in my mind. I’m more upset that I wasn’t able to right my mistake. That’s what feels worse.
So there’s my first day of college class experience! Hope y’all enjoyed this little story and I hope it made someone laugh! To make the situation even more comical, I started my senior year with a serious infection then got an allergic reaction to the medication for the infection. You could say my school year is doomed. Lololol
