Bad experience but I'm not gonna let it get me down..

I woke up this morning feeling fine, decided to have some coffee for the first time in a long time..

Pretty much cleaned the whole house top to bottom.. room to room. My house is spotless. After I got done cleaning.. I loaded my kids up to go to the grocery store for some milk. Went to the grocery store feeling fine So I decided we would go to another store to find some organization bins. Well While I was in there I started to feel like I was gonna pass out, things were getting dizzy so I thought to myself.. okay I got what I need I'm gonna go pay

So when I got up to pay the cashier says "are you okay?, your face looks droopy?" "Have you had anesthesia?"

I immediately felt like I was gonna pass out right then in the floor and started freaking out in my mind thinking I was having a stroke..but while at the same time reminding myself.. your already having a panic attack and her comment is making it worse, your okay. Well I hurried out to my car kinda feeling in a haze and looked at my face in the mirror. I looked like me, like I always do.

So I breathe.. and breathe.. cry a little, and BREATHE

I just have a funny looking face I guess, lol I'm fine. But I'm proud of myself because I have been cutting down on my klonopin, I used to take one .5mg in the morning and one .5 at night. Now I'm down to take a quarter of the .5 pill in the morning and .5 at night

Usually when I used to feel that way in stores etc.. I would immediately take another klonopin, but I didn't and I'm okay. I breathed and I'm okay.

I'm probably just exhausted from all the cleaning & those store trips just set me off.... plus the strange cashier πŸ€”

Idk one step at a time ❀️

Yep, I thought in my mind.. she could have chose any other person to say that to. But she chose the little girl with the panic disorder lol πŸ˜‚πŸ™„

Oh Elizabeth04, Forgive me but you cracked me up. I too would have freaked out if the store clerk had said that to me. I'm sure she meant well but I could see how the adrenaline just pour throughout your body. And yet...Elizabeth kept her "cool". Breathe, Breathe, Breathe and a few tears. *Actually I would have cried a lot.

You did great starting with a sparkling clean house, grocery store and yet another store. That's the thing with us, once we feel good, we just try to pack so much into that day. There's always tomorrow. As you start feeling better and able to control your emotions, you will find yourself feeling more comfortable should anxiety show it's face.

You should definitely be proud of yourself that you didn't reach for an extra Klonopin. Continued good luck on cutting down. One step at a time, but I think today you took a "Giant" step :)

You did good. x

Haha thank you. After it happened I kinda laughed a little.. like really? I let her get to me πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I can feel myself getting "used" to the anxiety little by little. Also realizing that I'm actually under stress is a big thing. Like if today were a couple months ago.. I probably would have been in the ER freaking out.. bp through the roof and yet another hospital bill. But I overcame this.

I think once your brain realizes that your body isn't going to respond irrationally to these "feelings" the anxiety will eventually slip away

Sometimes the best way to treat anxiety/panic attack is to treat it like that annoying person you can't stand. Just tell it to eff off, and it will.

Lol thanks I'm gonna try that!

Get mad at it instead of "afraid"

dont forget do not mix caffiene with yiur anxiety drug.u see your drug for panic attack usually is to calm you down and if u counter it with something that will wake u up like coffee .your body doesnot know which directions to head .sort of confused hence u get reaction.like that .but donot be afraid of coffee .i love coffee .take it few hours after taking yiur drug .you are ok
