I have always had anxiety, especially when my financial situation couldn’t be fixed. I can’t say much without losing my anonymity. I had to retire early due to a disability. I have always been able to figure out solutions until now. So I’ve had five yrs straight with this. I see a therapist because the one good thing I do have is insurance. I’ve been on meds before but it usually makes me complacent. This needs to be gone. The anxiety is immobilizing and I don’t think anyone can help. I’ve been there for so many people and now no one wants to bother returning calls. I’m so lost and it’s terribly lonely.

I understand the feelings of the lost of relationships because of anxiety and pushing people away. It’s almost heightened going through that with anxiety because at least for me I began blaming myself for my actions when I was frustrated that I wasn’t getting the support I felt I needed from my friends. Now, I don’t even want to bother them with my issues. I’ve learned to spend more of my energy into those people who have been there and asking how I’ve been and let go of others even if they were friendships I’ve had nearly my whole life. I think as we grow we also outgrow people and we have to not hold on to relationships whether intimate or not. Surround yourself with those who are there for you.
