Help I wake up to nausea and anxiety every morning
Hi I haven’t been on here for a number of years but now and again I have a look on the off chance I can help someone , I have suffered for many years with terrible anxiety which when at its worst stopped me eating and I was extremely poorly I felt nauseous day and night from the fight or flight feeling that I was feeling constantly , I too was on sertraline and when I couldn’t get on with that citalopram and amitriptyline , it did help a bit but my whole life was still overwhelming until I started therapy , initially a grounding technique helped me , touch something think of 5 things etc etc and it helped , I continued to have CBT therapy and although I still have the odd bad day , 99% of the time I can cope , I do wear a necklace which has got like a tube on it and if I start to get anxious I blow on it ( it doesn’t make any noise ) and I find it immediately stops my thought process and allows me to ground myself so yes anything that you can hold to take your mind off in the first instance is good . I found two books amazing too ‘Don’t sweat the small stuff ‘ and ‘5 things ‘ , I now don’t take meds except amitriptilyne which I still find helps calm me . I don’t know if any of this will help but I hope something will , this site helped me loads too , knowing it wasn’t just me and people were so lovely offering tons of advice . I really do hope you can get some advice that might help you . People are always on here if you need to talk so reach out , night or day 😊
