Does anyone else get a lump in their throat with their costochondritis?
I have pain in my sternum and every now and then I get this lump in my throat, which I can swallow down to get some relief, feels like it could be linked to the costo. When I swallow it down, the lump always reappears after a few seconds, it’s worse at night and when I wake up in the morning and it takes ages for it to settle to a tolerable point.

OMG! I’ve suffered costo on and off for years - it’s the worst! But I can’t recall getting the lump at the same time. It makes sense though because costo can be brought on by stress, as can a tension lump.
I recently purchased the Back Pod, invented by a NZ physiotherapist (see it on YouTube). Works so well, haven’t had costo for months now, and I’ve been pretty stressed.
I have had costo for 3 months. The worst thing I’ve ever had by far. I’ve had burning in sternum area, sometimes painful swallows but not a lump sensation. My healthy anxiety sky rocketed. I’ve just got the backpod so hoping for miracles
I’ve used it for 2 weeks now, twice a day and it’s definitely improved things. I move it to positions up and down either side of my spine. Each position held for 30 seconds. Have you got one?
