Amongst the obvious symptoms of anxiety does anyone experience weird feelings and sensations which they find hard to describe?

Yeah, I think that's a normal thing to experience because we all have different perspectives of how a certain thing feels and how we experience it. I was going to ask my GP doctor about "brain fog" and just feeling "drifty", but I hesitated and decided not to because trying to describe how I felt seemed like too tremendous of a task. I'll get sudden jolts to my body (usually when I'm tired working overnight) that I can't quite put to words...but I know it's anxiety. Some weird feelings are usually chalked up as vertigo, derealization, depersonalization....and so on. Dizziness even. Anxiety can cause us all to feel very strange and the words associated don't seem to do the feeling justice. And, again, it's hard to lump these feelings into one word because the varying degrees and ways we feel a certain way. You're definitely not alone in this. I usually take a stroll down the very long list of anxiety symptoms to see if something fits.

Thank you so much for your reply. You have helped me tremendously the way you have described these feelings. I also look down symptoms of anxiety for answers, but it's better to hear from fellow sufferers. It's good to know I am not alone with this and that it's only anxiety. It makes you wonder how much more it can throw at you.

Hello! I get a strange pulling in my forehead makes me feel like I've got a hole in it, gets worse the more tired I get, I've lately found placing a cold migraine strip seems to help take my mind off it.

It's often hard to know if it's anxiety related which makes it harder to deal with.

Im so glad im not the only one that struggles to describe these weird feelings of anxiety. I def get the floaty unreal foggy vision/brain thing sometimes it lasts for hours which is very frightening and it only exagerates my anxiety more and then i get the wishy washy churning stomach and the feeling of utter dread and wanting to jump out of my own skin and run far far away but i cant. It feels as if you are the only one feeling like this but its so nice to read other people are going through it.

I agree. Really pleased that you also may find comfort from knowing your not the only one experiencing this. That feeling of dread must be the worst one!

Yes I do on a regular. July makes a year since it's been happening. I went to so many ERs no answers. It happened immediately after a miscarriage. Tingling, numbness, pressure in my head, just really bizarre stuff. I miss being normal. When I lay down to sleep the symptoms gets worse.

Yes I miss being normal, all these symptoms can be so scary. Sorry about your miscarriage it must have been very hard on you, and then having all these symptoms afterwards. Hope you can feel better soon!

Thank you! When I see people dying from certain illnesses I then get scared wondering if I have some kind of undiagnoses illness.

I am exactly the same. I expect it's all part of anxiety and then it becomes a vicious circle with worry on worry. Are you on any meds?

Yes, you nailed it. I have symptoms that I find hard to describe to my GP. I am at a lost for words when I try to. Especially, the weird head sensations that go and come. Sometimes it feeling like someone bumped me on head, that last a few second, sometime is like quick pain, that last a couple second, sometime it like creepy crawling sensation or presure. Even now I am not doing it justice. Not to mention the dizziness and the almost out of body sensation. You are not alone.

Yes, I feel that if I try to describe a lot of these symptoms to my G.P he would not take my anxiety seriously and maybe question my sanity! The out of body sensation is what I am experiencing now, it truly is awful. Its good to know we are not alone.

What does your out of body sensation feel like? For the longest I felt like a stranger in my body. It's getting better but I still feel it

Feels like I'm apart from the real world like I am on the outside looking in. It's very scary. Doctor says it's high anxiety.

I just had an episode at work. On my way to get lunch and I felt unbalanced/ dizzy even when I was ordering my food. Any slight movement makes me feel lightheaded. As I was sitting in the break room I felt like I couldn’t my hands to get the food then I started to feel hot so I got my stuff and walked out. Now I’m just sitting at my desk on a swivel chair and I feel loopy

Ceelos81, that does happen. Check for dehydration. Sometimes

not drinking enough water can bring on those feelings. Just a thought. x

I definately get the dizzyness and lighthead with head pressure and pressure on the bridge of my nose. Achey weak and tingles in my legs. Strange thoughts that heighten physical awareness. Sometimes racing thougjts and worry. It sure does suck. Tried to hop back on lexapro which helped alot before but scared the anxiety into me and stopped after a few days. Now I am left with worse anxiety than before trying it again. Should have stuck witj it and pushed through but now having full panel bloodwork and a swab genesight test to try and see what exactly tje deal is. Until then taking ativan so I am not in a constant state of fear. It makes me rather depressed though. All cannot happen soon enoigh. Hugs and hoping for everyones comfort and recovery!$

I've been the same with meds. - going backwards and forwards in trying them and in the end regretting not sticking with them, but side effects can be so awful. The lightheadedness and head pressure is unpleasant and stops me from thinking clearly. I can't remember when my head last felt clear. Hope all is well with the blood test!

Oh yes we do!! Your not alone.
