They won't treat your migraines?

I suffered migraines for years. They are brutal. I didn't have them every day. They were 3 days a month.

Have you taken Advil or anything for the migraines? Maybe look up some natural remedies to get rid of them! Most likely due to stress, I used to get them a lot because of it.

I deal with migraines as well, just an f.y.i it can also be genetic, my mother has them too but now at as much as she is in her early 50’s as you get older and closer to menopause they can taper down a lot.

I had migraines for years. Mine were hormone based. Doctors swore contraceptives would only help them, but once I went off them, my migraines went away. My sister in law gets them daily since childhood. No known cause. She takes a daily migraine med which reduces the pain and is now following a special diet- no citrus, caffeine, avocado, nuts or gluten, she said they’ve gotten a lot better. Try everything. What works for one person won’t for another. Also try meditation for migraines found on YouTube. I found it helped reduce the intensity when at its worst. I hope you find relief soon!

My son was diagnosed with migrains at 2 yrs old and has them now that he is in his 20s. Things that helped were botox injections but it was temporary. You need to find out what trigers them. Keep a daily journal until you know what brings the headaches on and what helps. My sons triggers were the sun. Outdoor exercise due to the heat. colognes, stress, Too long on the computer. They are much better since he found the triggers. Oh also hormonal changes triggered his migraines. Educate yourself nut dont stress over it.

Thanks

When you wake up in the morning is the migraine present or does it come on after breakfast? Is it worse with artificial lights or in daylight? Is it worse after using computer or smart phone? Does it come on with stress at home or work?

If I were you I would go to your optician who can scan behind your eyes with a special test which is easy to follow. From this he/she can see the arteries and the condition of the blood supply leading to the eye. Do you live in the UK?

Do you get flashing lights and an aura with them? What other signs do you have? Is the migraine in one eye or both? Have you had medication to stop the pain and are you taking any other medication for another problem that could be affecting you?

Do you drink alcohol which gives you a perpetual hang over or cheese coffee or chocolate which are common trigger. Does you home have anything like cavity wall insulation with foam - or du you use some washing powders skin creams or allergens in cleaners such as ammonia which can affect your eyes? An optician helped me with eyesight and migraines, and will bea ble to refer you to a specialist.

I have a light problem with cateracts, which can make things look cloudy in he light - so I have to cloes the curtains before I get up in the morning if it is extra light as it hurts my eyes. They do say that migraines can be helped by changing your décor to dark colurs painting your walls dark colours, grey ,navy blue bottle green, can help migraines .

Putting on tinted glasses can help for reading and daylight. Expect you have a good optician with the right equioment - the high street chain 2 for 1 may be ok but it does depend on how qualified optiians are. If you look them up in your area you can see their specialties. If you have migraine every day this can be as mentioned be linked with hormones. Hope you can get a referral through optician for your problem. The machine technology is greater through the optician than going to your GP and being referred to an eye clinic on NHS. Sure you will find the right help.
