My anxiety is unbearable today - I felt like I was finally getting somewhere yesterday and now I feel like I'm right back to where I started.
Any advice, support or just knowing someone is there would be a big help.

Anxiety often comes n goes, try not to be too disheartened when you get a bad day, use it as an opportunity to practice acceptance of the anxiety, your never truly alone with your symptoms and worries, somewhere someone will be feeling exactly the same kind of problems, the symptoms of anxiety are truly unpleasant but it can't harm you, you must try and remember this, before my recovery I found exercise a great way of using up all that excess adrenaline that the anxiety produced, I also spent alot of time on youtube, there's some great inspirational videos on there, many recovered sufferers of anxiety post helpful videos full of tips and advice for a whole host of symptoms and worries xxxx
Thanks Suzie, that has helped - can you point me in the direction of some good people to watch on YouTube? I've found one helpful video, but struggling to find something that is positive and watchable.
I think I'm struggling going back on my medication too - before I was going between lots of anxiety and brief moments of reality and happiness, but at the moment I'm going from anxiety to numbness until the meds build up.
Another little tip, as you find helpful and comforting videos, add them to your watch list so you can easily watch them as often as you like, I used to do this, if I couldn't sleep at night or I was feeling particularly anxious about a situation etc I just popped the videos on, it does help xxx
DR Barry, The Anxiety Guy, both have good videos on YouTube, you may also consider buying a copy of Dr Claire Weekes book " help for your nerves" she was a pioneer in her field and her books are still available from Amazon, the more you understand anxiety and the more knowledge you have the better equipped you become to accept it and overcome it xxx
Hi I purchased Help for your nerves by Dr Claire weeks for £1.79 and £2.99 postage brilliant book it explains so much and really does help when you are having some difficult days.
Thanks Suzie, I haven't come across any of these before. I think the more I know the better I will be able to handle it all - I thought once I had uncovered the root of it all, it would all become better, but I'm starting to realise that understanding why it's happened doesn't stop it from happening. Better to understand the mechanisms behind the anxiety and deal with those rather than wishfully thinking that things that happened in the past had never occurred.
Thank you x
Hi Cloud12, when those unbearable anxious days appear, I find what's best for me is to go to YouTube and listen to some great audio videos on Meditation/DeepBreathing. When we are so anxious anything more than 10min and we start to tune out. There are some great 1 minute, 5 minute and 10 minute relaxation videos that work fast and efficiently. Some of my favorite moderators are The Honest Guys, Michael Seeley. You will find the voices that best suite your needs. Continue using those videos on your good days as a short respite. Feel better and always remember The Power is Within You, You are the Power. x
Thanks Agora, I'll give those ones a try too. At the moment I'm using Headspace, but to be honest I'm finding it really difficult - as hard as I try to focus on breathing and what's going on around me, intrusive thoughts always find their way in at some point. I know that the key is to not react to the thoughts, and to just let them pass on by, but I haven't yet found a way to stop responding to them.
On the whole though, I do find that my head is a teeny bit clearer once I've tried a bit of mindfulness/meditation, so whilst I'm not enjoying it at the moment, I will keep trying.
Cloud12, Intrusive thoughts finding their way back even when in the middle of meditation happens to all of us. You can't really stop them at the time but just go back and tune into what you were listening to. Eventually after much practice, it will become easier for you to stay in tune with the calming voice and his affirmations. The other day my b/p was very high due to stress. I got onto 5 min. YouTube Hypnosis/Meditation. Retook b/p went to 120/70. These practices are remarkable in what they can do for you. Don't give up. x
Hi agora1 I totally agree my blood pressure can go very high when I'm feeling anxious and I do some breathing exercises and it calms me down and lowers blood pressure back to normal .we have to set some time each day to do some relaxation or breathing exercises i often do mine at bedtime and it really relaxes me and helps me to have a restful sleep.have a great weekend and let's hope we get some sunshine.
