Chest worse after eating?

I’ve recently found that I get more chest pain and chest tightness and a fluttery chest when I’ve eaten a meal or something. Is this something to do with anxiety or something else as I’ve never experienced this from eating before.

Hi there! I get the same exact thing! It even starts while I’m eating and I stop because it even causes me trouble breathing. It is anxiety because I got the same before at a high intensity and went away when I took an SSRI anti-anxiety drug. Is it in the centre of your chest tho? Because there are times when stomach sensations are mistaken as chest sensations. Because since anxiety often affects the stomach, it causes the stomach to tighten and make these weird fluttery feelings that you assume are in your chest, the centre of your chest happens to also be the location of the entrance for the food when it goes to your stomach. Anxiety causes these muscle tensions in the stomach anyways and these sensations like I said, are often mistaken as chest problems, diseases, etc. I’m pretty sure it’s something to do with anxiety I have been having that issue for a year now x

Yeah it’s in my chest both centre and left and right side, I get little stabbing pains too, it sort of seems to be all over and worsens especially when I lay down. I thought it was indigestion at first but I’ve sort of ruled that out now. I’m just struggling to come to terms with how this anxiety feeling comes on even when i feel completely fine, I’ve only eaten and all these chest pains and tightness has come on but I don’t understand how when I wasn’t worried or thinking of anything.

I get similar symptoms. Anxiety can come out of nowhere, for no reason. Panic attacks are like that.

I get that sometimes - it's probably your digestive system and not your heart (which is what we always think it is yet here we all are, typing away!)

I know all this overthinking causing worse chest pains haha! Sometimes I think there’s only me to blame from overthinking all my symptoms.

We do give ourselves a hard time, don't we? But we learn not to eventually.

Sometimes this can be caused by eating to quickly. Or not chewing your food enough.

If you are performing other activities as you eat this can also cause upset tummies.

If youare not allowing food time to digest this can also cause problems. Say you are eating and working at the same time

Some medications can cause problems, although I know in my case I take pain medications some can upset and cause heartburn. It could be all down to Anxiety

If you are worried talk to your GP
