So, last night I def had a little health anxiety from the effects of Zoloft and also from overthinking. I kept thinking of what my therapist said about how I’m not going crazy and it made me feel better. Felt great by the time my boyfriend got home and we had a great night. Felt a little spacey.
Feel less spacey today but slept horrible. Nightmares, night sweats, didn’t sleep well. Woke up at 6 to work on a film — I’m feeling that disconnect feeling a little but it’s going away.
Hi I think Zoloft is the same as Sertraline? Anyway I take that and found one of the side effects can be disturbing and nasty dreams. It also made my sleep worse, so the doctor put me on a very small dose of mirtazapine for nighttime and it really helps. Ok I still get the dreams and a dry mouth but consider them good trade offs for the help the med gives me. x
I’m glad it helps you overall! The meds just didn’t work for me and I hated how I felt. It was like I was out of body 24/7, and felt so distant, and it made me depressed! I got the dry mouth, too. This is my 4th day off the meds after tapering and my first bad dream since. They’re mostly vivid!
Oh dear. Well if you are staying on meds I hope you find one which suits you. I agree sertraline isn't for everyone. I had to try 2 others before I found it.
Thank you!! I’m sorry you went through a process prior to finding the right medication. How long until side effects were out of your system? I do notice them flushing out daily but I’m just curious I only took 25mg for two weeks, then 12.5mg, then 12.5mg every other day. Hopefully it’s quick!
Well I was just told to stop one and start another one so there was no period of tapering off. I am still on sertraline. x
Zoloft takes some time to get out of our system. While it is taking place the experiences you are going through are the same in my part. Be sure to not take to high of a dose of a new med if you are put on one. Many times it is best to wait until a good percentage Zoloft is out if your system. Went through it too and I know how unpleasant it was. So I know where you stand.
The doctor pulled me off Zoloft cold turkey and put me on cymbalta. I had been on Zoloft for over 4 weeks. Oddly, I didn’t have any withdrawals. Not sure if the cymbalta off set it or what..
You might need to change Medication, which is something I've done several times till I found one that works? The Zoloft doesn't seem to be the only one? I ended up with Mirtazapine, it might Not work for you? But you'd have to try it to see? I can't imagine walking around feeling"Spacey"? Don't be afraid to face OFF with your doctor that you need to try some else? Doctors don't want to be told their wrong? I've had to stand my ground with doctors that wouldn't change, so then I changed doctors. Your come First...
