Good days and bad days

Last week, I had a great week. I didn’t notice any twitching and was in a great mood. This week so far hasn’t been great. Twitching came back again and I’m feeling rather out of it. Perhaps because my son hasn’t been sleeping even more than usual? Like less sleep? Had a few short attacks. Felt like I was going to pass out. Dang Zoloft.

I feel you. My leg twitching came back when I started weaning off Zoloft two days ago. It’s so on and off! Been feeling out of it, too. What amount are you taking again?

in reply to

Hi all, I know I’ve shared this, but the Zoloft wasn’t for me. I started on 50 for a week which was terrible, then my GP bumped me to 100 for 2 weeks. Was even worse. I finally found another GP and got off Zoloft. I have been much better but still having bad anxiety. Hoping to get some relief soon. Al I know is that the Zoloft really doubled or tripled my anxiety.

Oh wow! Yeah, the side effects of it really freak me out. I constantly feel like I’m in a daze or dream! It’s friggen weird. I hate it. Did you get that?

in reply to

Yes, felt like I was in a dream world and major anxiety. My vision got bad, thought I was going to lose it.

I went to the ER twice and couldn’t believe everyone kept me on it.

I had to take anxiety meds and sleeping pills just to cope. The CVS made me feel like a junkie. The GP was beginning to blow me off.

Just a terrible experience all around. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Oddly, I was able to come off fairly easy. I never thought that would be the case for how bad it rocked my world. I thought I was going to lose everything.

Zoloft just wasn’t for me, but have heard great things from others though.

Guess only your body knows.

I’ve been in cymbalta for almost a week now but don’t notice anything. Plus I’m stressed about starting a new job.,

I didn’t mean to hijack this thread, Teggy.

My vision got bad, too. It’s been blurry on and off. It sucks. An on duty psychiatrist was pretty unhelpful and I had to seek advice from a pharmacist and another psychiatrist. I totally understand what you mean and it sucks.

When you got off, did you taper slowly? How long til the side effects diminish? I’ve only been on Zoloft (25mg) for 2 weeks, then 12.5mg for one, now I’m every other day 12.5mg. I was told this was the best way to taper off.

You’re going to be so great at your job. I hope you feel 100% soon :)

Thank you Unicornsrule. I went from 100 to 50 for almost a week and didn’t notice too much. Then saw a new GP who just said to stop completely. I did and I felt pretty good.

Though, I was put on cymbalta which might be helping, I just don’t know right now.

You will be free from Zoloft. I wish I was a dr and could tell you to just stop, but I’m not.

Hope this helps 🙂

Thanks so much :) I’m Jamie, by the way!

I was so scared to stop abruptly and took the advice to taper off because of how brutal the effects were on me. I hate how it makes me feel! I feel so tired today and loopy. I only have 3 more pills and then I’m done!

in reply to

You’re welcome Jamie. You are there, don’t sweat it!

I loved the day I got rid of Zoloft. Just didn’t work for me.

You will feel yourself again real soon! Of course the anxiety might return, but I really suggest buspirone for instant calming. True it wasn’t the greatest, but it really helped me a lot and when I go back to the GP soon, I will bring it up for myself.

Thanks so much :) It makes me feel so crazy when I’m on it! It’s bizarre! I’m so afraid of health stuff that I was terrified I was in psychosis because of how odd I feel. My doc said I’m fine but it’s just scary!!

Thanks sooo much :) I had a great night the first night I didn’t have to take it when I tapered off, but it made me feel weird again eventually. Hoping the effects aren’t long term.

Definitely bring it up to your GP if it helps you! I wanna see how I feel within the next month and just so how it all goes. Thanks soooo much

I think Zoloft is another name for sertraline? I started off on 100 mgs which didn't do a thing for me and made me worse. When the doctor increased it to 150 mgs the difference was amazing. Don't forget it can take up to 6 weeks to fully get into your system and until then you can feel worse. So unless the side effects were very bad it's a shame you couldn't have persevered for a bit longer.

I find missing a couple of doses makes me twitch more but maybe this is a side effect of the meds? Whatever, I hope you find a ad that suits you. x

Yeah I’m technically on Sertraline. I think they are the same.

Do you feel hot along with the twitching? Like chest arms and neck while taking zoloft?

I don’t feel hot with twitching, but I do get the occasional weird warm feeling in my abdomen.
