Medication saved my life. I've been on medication for going on 5 years now. I'm currently having it adjusted as my anxiety has started to trickle back in. I thought i wouldn't make it because the medication took 4-6 weeks to feel any effect. I thought to myself, "how am i gonna be able to live this way for the next month or more." But trust me, relief will come. You'll find the right medicine, and it may take some time. But don't give up.
Medication is currently helping me. I resisted it for a LONG time. Glad I finally found a combo that helps. I'm on Zoloft and some Ativan (which I'll need to taper off of sometime).
Medication effects everyone in different ways, some may work better for one person than another. The slightly weird feeling at first is usually normal, but if you feel bad confront GP immidiatly. However remember medication only mask the symptoms and not the condition. It's a long process but working along side the supporting medication can lead exceptional benefits.
Well of course they work or they wouldn't be authorised or prescribed! Around 25% of people are treatment resistant though, and you might have to try a couple before you find one which works best for you. I am on sertraline and they keep my moods (usually) buoyant enough so that I can cope. x
They can work, it just depends on the person. I was looking forward to trying SSRI meds for myself but unfortunately they didn't work for me. It was really upsetting I have had to work extra hard to work through my anxieties and stress that was causing panic attacks. I do have a very small rx of Ativan to use on my very very worst days but its been over a year since I took one. It's really only for emergencies since it is a habit forming drug. It does calm me down but again, habit forming and I only use during bad panic attacks.
I have tried propranolol (beta blocker drug)and diazepam(a benzodiazepines tranquilizer and muscle relaxant and for insomnia,I have tried many of this group of drugs)
I found them fantastically helpful,wonderful for anxiety,panic,stress,insomnia,muscle pain,migraine .
I wholeheartedly recommend them.
There are other types of drugs for anxiety such as anti depressants, buspirone, and many others but I have not experienced these.
Very helpful drugs although I think they are quite weak at changing the root cause of anxiety.
Had a bad dizzy spell just a little while ago. Did too late mush today trying to make myself believe im on the road to recovery. Am trying too hard too soon i guess. Just want to be well again so badly..
i get you , i can hardly sleep in my own bed without having really bad dizzy spells and i thought i was getting better so i tried to get to sleep in my own bed , tried too much and it got worse instantly
I’ve been on Prozac for a few months now and it’s helped sooo much. I resisted so long and my doctor recommended Prozac and I was hesitant to start it because I’ve heard some pretty negative things about it but I went ahead and did it and I’m so glad I did.
Medication is different for everyone though. The first one you try may not work but that’s okay, keep trying 🖤
Yeah..i have been sleeping on the sofa then getting in bed when my dog insisted. I guess we have good days and bad. We are like spring..cold one day..warm the next...
