Dizziness

I increased my Zoloft to 150 about two weeks ago. The past couple days, I’ve had dizziness which is a new symptom for me (been on Zoloft for almost three months now) I’m also tapering off Ativan. Is the dizziness the meds or anxiety? Anyone else experience this?

Just an educated guess, but I would think so. Increasing the dose of any medication, especially SSRIs such as Zoloft also increases the chances of side effects. An increase in dosage, even an antidepressant, can also increase anxiety (temporarily....or during the period of time in the beginning). There's also the cutting down on Ativan that has me reaching at that. Decreasing benzo medications should be done tapered and by a professional, which I assume is the case. Low dose tapers and the lower the dose initially, generally the easier the taper is off of it. You might be feeling dizzy from that as well. Either way, this sounds fairly normal. If it persists or worsens, I would contact your doctor to see if there's a better course of action. Take care

I feel your pain. I was having dizziness from my concussion but it seemed to get worse once I started playing around with all these meds. I just decreased my Ativan dose again and I’m freaking out about all the possible withdrawal symptoms. Dizziness is an anxiety symptom, a possible side affect of most meds and a possible withdrawal symptom - to answer your question! I’m sorry you’re going through it.
