Nervous in the chest

Anyone kinda feel like they have to hold the middle of their chest? I’m nervous and it’s like I have to press down on it. It doesn’t hurt, it just feels gassy. I’m jittery and was pretty upset earlier and cried a lot. But now I’m panicking from it =\

It makes you feel horrible but it can’t hurt you no matter how bad it feels.

It’s amazing how something that isn’t painful can be so horrible isn’t it x

It is sooo horrible, like I’m definitely making stuff up in my head. I’m just imagining things that can happen with my heart while feeling tired. It doesn’t help that I scratch my chest for some relief and it hurts

Oh yes.the racing thoughts that go with it are the absolute worst.thats what makes it feel so bad.other people would just shrug it off.but anxiety disorder is cruel x

It is real. You will get to recognise this feeling. I did. It is different from any other feelling. When you understand that this feeling is anxiety then you can tell yourself that there is nothing physically wrong. Try and identify situations which may bring this feeling on, and then you can work on alleviating the feeling by breathing or anything else that you find useful. Sometimes when you realise a certain thing may make the anxiety feeling happen, you can maybe take steps to change the situation in some way to lessen the resulting physical feeling. It's a horrible feeling, but don't free out. Work out some ways of relaxing -like a one minute meditation app or a mindfulness app on your phone. Good luck.

I think I know what you’re talking about, It’s like an emptiness, like the air in your chest is really thin, like your on top of a really high mountain. That’s how I feel sometimes anyway. I don’t know if that’s what you were trying to describe or not.

Not what you're looking for?
