Feeling tired and drained

Hey everyone! Is there anyone else out there who has “health anxiety”? Like, I always feel like something is wrong with me. I could have gas build up in my chest and my stomach and I will constantly feel like something is wrong with me. I’ve had multiple check ups with the doctor and I’ve been cleared BUT there’s always that thing in the back of my mind saying “they’re wrong” someone please help!

Hi honey

You and I sound exactly the same I have the dreaded “health anxiety” sometimes it literally consumes me to the point I never stop overthinking that something bad is going to happen to me or I’m going to get some terminal illness or something..your not on your own with the dr thing every time I go to mine I swear I see him roll his eyes at me but we shouldn’t have to feel like that it’s not very nice to live with at all I mean it’s like your fighting against yourself everyday

Here anytime you need to talk

I’m to the point now where I just wanna live at a doctors office! I have a friend who did nursing for 40 years and she tells me it’s all in my head and I need to try and ignore it but I’m always thinking “what if she’s wrong? What if something is actually wrong with me?”

Hi there,

You're not alone. I think with time you'll begin to understand that nothing is seriously wrong with you and ignore the physical symptoms. I still get that way now and then but I've found that worrying certainly doesn't make it better, only worse. Do you notice that if you sort of get distracted or into a book or movie perhaps, that the stomach pains etc go away? Try keeping your mind occupied, but not frantically every second of the day. Also, if you read, look into The Worry Cure, and Hope and Help For Your Nerves. I found them to be quite helpful.

Hang in there!

Hey! Yeah, sometimes I’ll let it pass on by and not think anything of it and ignore it but some days are worse than others and it gets the best the of me :(

I’ve learned having noises around such as a fan or hairdryer blowing helps a lot! When I take a shower or when I get ready I always turn on my hair dryer and it calms me for whatever reason.

I am in your shoes!
