UTI worries

Every time I think I’ve gotten better with anxiety something happens, lol. I’m pretty sure I have a UTI. Last year I went to urgent care with one, they sent me to the ER because of a specific symptom I had, and let’s just say it was an expensive mistake because all I had was a normal UTI after all. Today I did the telemed thing to try and avoid that fiasco since I’m 98% sure that’s what I have again. I made the mistake of googling symptoms. Classic blunder but now I’m freaking out that I have a kidney infection. I feel a little shaky and cold but I don’t have a fever. I have an upset tummy but that is a frequent thing with me, especially when I’m nervous. The dr on the phone said I would know if my kidneys were affected since I’d be super sick. I’m also skeptical because the shaky and being cold started after I saw those symptoms online. I’m about to start antibiotics and I need to stop worrying, but that’s not easy. Has anyone experienced this situation before? I’m trying to reassure myself by reminding myself my symptoms were worse last time and I had a CT scan and was normal...

Hello,

How certain are you that you do not have a stone? If you do have a UTI it is definitely caused by something and that could very well be a stone. From the symptoms you describe this is what I suspect.

Do you have any lower back or abdominal pains?

That’s a good question, how do they test for a stone? I did have both abdominal and lower back pain. It’s been feeling better since I took the antibiotic, although tonight I’m having to pee a lot again...wish this would just go away already!

They don't test for a stone, it is a scan. Ultrasound that is done to determine the existence and size of the stone.

Am not a fun of antibiotics honestly. I took some for my stone. But it just curious infections like UTIs. What did help me against stones and UTIs that resulted as a consequence were natural herbal pills that I used. Chanca Piedra and Hydrangea and a bunch of other extracts were in these pills

Hi everyone, I don't know if I'm on the right thread or not, but I've been having continuous UTI'S.....I'm on my 4th course. My GP is going to start me on prophylactic antibiotics until I get y appointment with a urologist. Is anyone else taking prophylactics. If so which ones? I get very nauseous with some antibiotics. and I would like to avoid that if possible. Thanks

Biddy, I can recommend you to take some precautionary measures which will help against UTIs you are having. First of all, drinking more water. lots of water will help. Another effective treatment is D-Mannose which is the essential nutrient found in Cranberry Juice and helps to fight against UTIs. Though in Cranberry D-Mannose is not found in large quantities, there are some natural supplements that have been produced containing D-Mannose and Hibiscus extracts. Which brings me yet to another natural element that is very effective in the battle against UTIs. hibiscus extracts are known to be used to fight against high cholesterol and to lower blood pressure but its ability to fight E-coli, which is the harmful bacteria causing UTIs makes it one of the best treatments for UTIs.

There are natural supplementary products made from these herbs and minerals which will be great for you and far more effective than antibiotics.

Thanks bekindest, will give those a try. I had been drinking loads of water and the result of that was my sodium levels were very low and Dr. sent me to hospital where I was told to cut down the amount of liquid as it was diluting my sodium. You can't win, can you. x
