Sorry about that. Deep breathing and yoga helps me sleep. I also used meditation music whenever I feel so bad. It helps me fall asleep. Maybe you can try any of these at night.

Tight Hug Tamka38. It's gonna be fine.

I read some of your other posts also. Anxiety & depression frequently leads to insomnia. What do you think is the cause of your symptoms? Are you taking any over the counter or prescription drugs to combat your symptoms? The answer to solving whatp you have described in this post and others typically involves lifestyle changes, therapy, learning to think differently, and quit often medication? You have to really work hard to overcome these symptoms, and you can do it!!!!! Many people on this board including myself have been in situations similar you yours and overcome them. Let us know what you have done to combat your illness and you will get some feedback from some of the caring members on this board that will support you and provide tips that may be helpful. Prayers & hope you sleep, eventually it will come.

My doctor was very helpful. He was willing to work with me and listened to what I had to say. If I wanted to try a need that I thought would work he would write the script even if it was not his first choice. I must have tried 10 or so AD meds before I found one I could tolerate and actually worked. It was a long process. He also put me on another med for anxiety and yet another for insomnia. We finally found the right combination after about a full year of experimentation. I also use some OTC meds to alleviate anxiety and depression. I know first hand how anxiety ahnd depression can eat you alive. Knowing that I needed to be here for my husband and the love I have for my two daughters is what helped me persevere and stay motivated to keep fighting to get well. Sometimes I was in a very dark place, and things are still a struggle at times, but I am at a point where I have a reasonably good quality of life. Your answer is out there. Push those negative thoughts aside - most of them are just the diseases of anxiety and depression talking. When any negative thoughts enter your mind push them away and don't dwell on them. They will still come back, just don't dwell on them! Consider making list of the positive things you have in your life. If you need to you can pull it out and read it if you need to. Half the battle is how you handle your thought process. Anxiety and depression may be a part of who you are just as they are for me, but they don't have to own you. With the right strategy and meds you will own them! You can beat this, keep fighting and help your doctor find a way to help you. You will beat this!

Hi T, I know Zoloft is a really good med for lots of people with anxiety and depression but it takes a month or so before you see much benefit. I've taken Zoloft before and gotten some relief, took it for a couple of years and was feeling ok, I stopped taking it because I did not think it was helping much- I was wrong. I did not realize how much it was helping until months later when I had bottomed out again, then I ended getting on another AD that is working - I won't stop taking this time. Xanax is a really good anxiety med but really short acting. Maybe you could talk to your doctor about taking a longer acting benzo if your anxiety is chronic and almost always present, maybe something like diazapam so that you can maintain even blood levels of the medication. Does the trazodone not help you sleep? I tried it and it helped me sleep some but I could not deal with the side fx so I stopped taking it. I take 3mg lunesta for sleep. I did not think it worked well at first, then I figured out it is most effective on an empty stomach. I eat an early dinner and don't take lunesta until 5 hours later and it puts me down - works much better than Ambien, benzo or trazodone for me, but taking on empty stomach is a must. Congrats on the sobriety, that's a must do to get past anxiety and depression, I know that is hard but I hope you stay sober, really bad mixing benzo med and boos. Really sorry to hear about your childhood, pls try not to dwell on it, no fault of your own, and look to the future rather than thinking of the past when those thoughts come. Maybe easier said than done but no good and only depression and anxiety can come from reliving those things in your mind. Hang in there and don't give up and you will find your way.
