Anyone toss and turn and heart beat super fast at night before bed?? It keeps me up. And if I fall asleep for a second I jolt awake with panic. And I’m not even panicking about anything other than panciking

This has happened to me. It sucks because you are so tired and become scared to fall asleep. That happens to me sometimes, until I'm so tired I just end up knocking out for the rest of the night.

just the same as mine. I did not have enough sleep the other night which made me absent from work, then last night same thing, everytime i wakes up, I am scared that I can not get back to sleep again.

Yes. This happens to me as well. I believe this is all due to two things. First is the fact that those who have anxiety tend to be hypervigilant. We are too super aware of what's going on with our bodies (paying attention to your heart beat).

Second because of the fast heart beat and experience we have now alerted the subconscious mind that this is a threat. Now every time you lie down you automatically anticipate these events and they repeat themselves. Same goes for the jolting out of bed.

All you can do is breath (breath in for 4 hold for 2 breath out for 4) and let it pass. You may not be able to control your thoughts but you control your behavior while it's happening. Remain calm, breath and let it pass. You'll train your brain to treat This as a non threat.

Easier said then done but it'll take practice. Stay strong and don't let anxiety win.

This can be whybyou feel dream like and zoned out during the day

Anxiousgirl7, I'm glad your sleep study turned out fine. I agree with Dnel82 in what he has to say about anxiety. I would have written the same thing because I too went through

that experience at the beginning of my anxiety days. I would suggest re-reading his response and really let it sink in as to what is happening and how you are responding to anxiety during the night. It's all going to be okay. xx
