So I’m new here and I just needed some support. So let me start out by saying I started working in the ER Jan ,2018 and let’s just say it was the most traumatizing thing I ever did. That’s when my anxiety started. I get numbness in my arms and face, my heart beats 180 bpm my blood pressure goes up or falls, I get massive migraines and having digestive issues. My cardiologist said there’s nothing wrong besides he may suggest PSVT which is tachycardia. But other then thg nothing. I went to the nuerologist got an mri had many cat scans of my head. Nothing . Got perscribed Ativan , big mistake I hate the medicine. I just need advice help something.

You’re in great company. Most of the people here have been where you are. Step 1 is reaching out. Congrats on taking the first steps. The good news is, if your Dr says everything is fine then everything’s fine. It’s about managing those thoughts that tell you otherwise. There are some great resources. Books, meditation, support groups, etc. just find what works best for you and go with it.

Amandam88, with all the departments in the hospital, how did you happen to fall into working in the ER. One of the most highly stressed departments for sure. Any other options open to you? Your mental and physical health need to come before anything else. I'm so sorry you are in such pain. xx
