Hey I am worried about sepsis. I fell over and grazed my knee. I cleaned it up straight away and put a plaster on it. 2 days later I developed a sore throat and started getting hot flashes. I am aching all over and just feel so weak. The graze seems to be healing nicely but there was a bit of yellow on the dressing when I changed it. I have read stories about people getting flu like symptoms when they have sepsis. It's been 3 days though so would I be feeling worse than I do. I am still mobile but it exhausts me to do anything. I am urinating alot too. I also have a dry cough.

Hi Jane3285, you certainly have developed a lot of physical symptoms which all started with your grazed knee. Personally, I think health anxiety has come into play big time. Your worry about sepsis has been there from the start and is escalating.
However....we are not doctors, we can't diagnose. It would be best to check with your doctor to rule out anything that may be going on that's physical and not mentally caused.
Wishing you well, heal soon. xx
It’s been 3 days if you had sepsis you’d really know about it , you wouldn’t be mobile at all x
Speaking as someone who has severe health anxiety and who has had sepsis, I can almost promise you you're absolutely fine.
A little yellow on the bandage or scab is normal. It's part of the healing process.
When I developed sepsis, I woke up feeling fine, went to work, etc. (I was 3 weeks post op from having my appendix out and had already returned to work with my doctor's blessing) By noon, I was in ICU, raging fever, delirious, vomiting uncontrollably, couldn't cool down my body even though the temperature outside was below zero. I remember fanning myself with a magazine while being rolled out to the ambulance in the midst of freezing rain!
That being said, don't be afraid to check with your doctor and reassure yourself. Just try to remind yourself that you'd have better odds of being struck by lightning than developing sepsis from a knee scrape.
