Hi Sicko, there are a lot of us who have multiple medical issues as well as emotional ones. There comes a time when we need to put a stop to the ongoing panic and anxiety. I believe you that your nerves are shot. We can only take so much. Lexapro for me, has more than done it's job in bringing down my anxiety and allowing me to overcome Agoraphobia as well as get back in control with my life. It doesn't sedate me or make me feel like I'm on medication. I'd give it a try. Your doctor took into consideration your health issues when suggesting Lexapro. I have Fibro, A-Fib, Mitral Valve Prolapse and High Blood Pressure on and off and yet Lexapro (for me) just enhances my life and allows me to live life to the fullest once again.

I wish you well in giving it a try. If not Lexapro there are many other SSRIs that may work for you. The goal is getting your life back. :) xx

I just saw this. Good for you It's worth a try, it may be the key that opens the door to success. Good Luck. We're here if you need the support. Take it with an open mind and

give it time (4-6 weeks) to reach full efficacy. Everything worth while takes patience and time. Proud of you. :) xx

medication only masks your anxiety until you have to face it head on, which will rid your anxiety once you realize there is nothing to fear. the lexapro may help for a short amount of time, but it won’t help for life. anxiety and panic attacks are uncomfortable, not dangerous. your anxiety cannot hurt you, retrain your brain to acknowledge anxiety for what it is, hypersensitive nerves and fearful thoughts. take your anxiety with you throughout your day, and you will begin to realize there is nothing to fear. try medication, breathing techniques, and just going with the flow of anxiety. it’s sound horrible, i know, but that’s the way to get to recovery. no fears = no anxiety. hope this helps, keep us updated:)
