Hey Laban11. About a year ago, I would wake up in a panic and find myself coughing and trying to catch my breath. I ended up changing my bedroom furniture around and started listening to an app on my phone that plays different sounds and it helped me get to sleep and I haven’t had the same scary wake-ups since then. My favorite sounds are, running shower, thunderstorm, and rainstorm. Hope this helps.

You’re welcome Labban11. Exercising, meditating with different breathing techniques, and yoga are good things to do before going to bed as well! You’ve got this!

Labban, you won't suffocate in your sleep, your involuntary nervous system ensures you always breathe and if thst is interrupted whilst sleeping by a bad dream you will wake up, you won't suffocate. So relax.
