Has anyone had problems with propranalol 40mg. Hypertension episode due to propranolol? Shakey sweaty palpitations and drained of colour?

Referred to hospital after a scary episode and told it was due to propranalol but have taken it on and off for 3 years n never had that happen! They say continue use but how do I know it wont happen again. Had bloods done. E.c.g. heart trace. All came back normal but still do not feel satisfied with the answer!

I've been on propranlol for years and I'm on 10mg pills but take it 3 or 4 times a day and I'm the same heart palpatations feels like it's coming out my chest!!! Hot sweats even cold clammy sweats even ends of fingers and toes go cold and I'm struggling to breath when it happens and I go dizzy I wish I knew what it was it's so scary isn't it ...but you did the right thing going hospital even if you feel you need checking over again 3 times a night with the same thing you just go if you don't feel right I do

The feelings you describe are what I experience with a panic attack and that medicine is supposed to help with that

Maybe you had a breakthrough panic attack . But if they checked you out the hospital feel confident that you are OK

Sorry to hear that you felt that way and hope you feel better now

I've been on my 80mg dose for almost 2 years now but i did feel quite hyper & panicky right at the very start so i spoke to my gp

He arranged for me to take the same dose but as 1 40mg pill twice a day ( i have 1 when i wake & 1 mid afternoon) since then everything has been fine

Maybe you need time to re-adjust to Propranolol again

Talk it over with your doctor

Thank you for ure replies. Think my anxiety back with avengance but I am managing to deal with it slightly better than when it started. Defo nervous still about taking my propranalol but took it last night when hubby was here n I was fine. Not sure I feel comfortable taking it when im alone though but will have to try I suppose! X
