Feel sick, losing weight. Please help

I’m 16 and I’ve had anxiety for about a year and lately it’s just got really bad. I feel sick 24/7 and I’m always in a state of panic and I don’t know what to do anymore. No matter what I try i can’t stop and I’m barely eating and I’m losing weight and I really don’t want to be put in hospital but that’s honestly what’s gonna happen if this continues. Please help me.

Have you been to the doctors? Do you know what is causing the anxiety?

Yes but they won’t prescribe me anything till I’ve seen a counsellor which I’m waiting for. I have no idea what causes it or even it if it’s just anxiety that’s my problem

Hello Skyline,

If you are 16 this is a very good time for you to develop trusting relationships with members of your family, your counselor and your doctor to discuss the problems you say you have.

This time in your life is when you can start to have a good circle of people around you to teach you and support you.

Face to face relationships are what is going to pull you through this passage in your life.

WE can all say, that we understand how afraid you are of the things that are unknown to you.

But you have your reasons for feeling the way you do.

Please seek the warmth of loving people that you can talk to, face to face.

I have many friends and they all want me to be okay but I don’t know how I can be. I’ve literally tried everything to distract me from it but nothing’s working

Hi again.

I went for the easy to digest stuff to help keep weight on.

Apples with peanut { almond }, butter and honey, PB&J sandwiches or fried eggs with cheese on toast always went down and stayed down during these days for me.

Hey I hope your okay ! I also suffer from anxiety and I’m 20! I haven’t ever suffered from it before until the last few months an I know how horrible it can be and how it can affect ur every day life ! U need to speak to someone whether it’s family /friends or get help through a councillor. Also look at YouTube videos about anxiety I find these help and meditation x

Hi first are your parents aware of your situation? If not you need to speak with them. Get therapy then you can get medication. I was in your shoes where I barely eat also. Was afraid I'd end up in the hospital. I would eat V8 juice and a egg.

Yes my parents know but I feel awful about it because I’m worrying them a lot. I’m on the waiting list for therapy but it’s gonna be another week and I’m not sure I can deal with this for much longer

You sound like a sensitive person, Which is great. I'm a

parent/grandparent, I GUARANTEE you that your parents wouldn't have it any other way, they love you and will worry about you for the rest of your life. This is something that you're dealing with and they want to support you. PLEASE don't do anything drastic? Doctor appointments for this can have a waiting list, but once you get in the appointments should be easier to get. One thing I've learned is when you get an anxiety attack, don't fight it, it will cause your anxiety to get worse. Just know it won't Kill you, distract your self with music or s hobby. Keep writing I sincerely CARE😊

Your welcome, I'm glad you won't you've got a lot of life to live. Your at a tough time in your life, you'd be surprised at how many people are in your shoes. Don't be afraid to change doctors or medication if their not working for you. I've had several different doctors and Meds. Finally found meds that have help, but need to change doctors. NEVER doubt your Self worth, most IMPORTANT LOVE YOURSELF, only surround yourself with positive people, those who are NEGATIVE are that way because that's how they view themselves. 😊

hi, Reiki is good. I have had awful anxiety, started doing yoga, meditation, taking b vitamins and just started st.johns wort, this is helping me😊. Therapy next. Hope you get better real soon 😊

Have you had a blood test to check your thyroid?

I felt sick 24/7 and lost 25 pounds before I was diagnosed hypothyroid.

I have a blood test booked and I honestly think I have a thyroid problem bc surely I can’t lose weight from missing just one meal?

Sort of. CBT has helped somewhat so although I still feel anxious a lot I’m able to eat something. I’m not the weight I want to be but I’m certainly not as bad as I used to be!

That’s awesome! Is it just general anxiety or do you have a phobia of some sort? I deal with Emetophobia (fear of vomiting) so I’m unsure if that’s the cause of my nausea but I also believe I have a hormone imbalance because I feel the worse with my cycles. I’m glad you’re doing better! Success stories are the most encouraging and typical why we come on this sites.
