Hi Cris,

I live with anxiety and chronic dizziness/lightheadedness. I relied on alprazolam for many months to calm my panic attacks, although now I haven't used it in three months. When I did use it, it did make my lightheaded/dizziness symptoms worse, but calmed my anxiety down at the same time. I know that alprazolam has a side effect of dizziness, so yes, it is totally normal. It's just a really annoying symptom/side effect to deal with.

Hi Rachel if you don't mind what causes your dizziness is it afib that causes you to become dizzy

Besides of anxiety do you have any health related issues?

I have had a CT scan, chest x ray, many EKG's, ENT visits/hearing tests, every kind of blood work done, hormone testing, eye exams, dentist exams, ER trips, Urgent care trips, Therapist trips.... they've found NOTHING other than having anxiety and depression. I so desperately wish I had SOME health related issue that was the reason for my dizziness. I've lived with it 24/7 for over a year now with no relief. It has improved *slightly* over the past year since I've taken control over some of my anxiety, but its still there, and it's worst when I have an actual panic/anxiety attack. Do you know what's causing your dizziness?

For now I don't know either but o feel like I had this for every day now and maybe I have a vertigo

Vertigo could be a definite cause. An ENT should be able to give you an answer for sure. They might even try the epley maneuver to move the crystals in your ear to get rid of the vertigo.. best of luck on your journey.

Hi Budoypapaitan, I hope you don't mind me also contributing to your question... I had severe anxiety which made me agoraphobic for 5 years. I was on Xanax for 30 years, within the last 5 years diagnosed with A-Fib. For myself, I found that once I got off long term Xanax (o.25mg) once a day, my dizziness, my tiredness were gone and I became more clear headed and back to feeling like myself once more.

As for my heart, I am on Cartia for the A-Fib and Metoprolol for high blood pressure and anxiety. This is best talked over with your cardiologist as to what may be causing that dizzy feeling. I can only tell you what I have experienced. wish you well...

Well I too has been diagnosed afib on my first EKG I did a confirmatory by having a echo but my echo cardiogram was all normal luckily another EKG test after the echo was all normal except for this nsstp non specific st wave changes my gp tell me to make another test which is holter test because he can't rule out what's really happening to me I'm on my way to holter maybe if I complete the money for the test by the way what are your symptoms when you are on afib??? Another does anxiety causes a afib or afib causes our anxiety

Hi Budoypapaitan, Anxiety can present with an arrhythmia that may resemble A-Fib. In your case, the first EKG did, however the Echo proved it wrong. What you are feeling now has more to do with your anxiety over a heart condition that doesn't exist.

Xanax can help with anxiety by calming your mind which will then calm your body. Being outside and feeling dizzy with too many people around sounds more like agoraphobia due to anxiety. (fear of the open market) The perspiration comes when we fear and get a rush of adrenaline preparing us to fight or flee but it's all coming from negative thoughts in our mind.

Follow your cardiologist orders, follow up on the holter. You will be okay, you are in good hands with your doctor.

I had a series of EKG at first it was an afib the second test a echo cardiogram my heart structure was normal thank to that so I've decided to take another EKG test the result is Normal (EKG) but there was a nsstp non specific st wave changes my gp tell me to make a 24 hour EKG since it was to expensive I didn't make that test yet
