It sucks going out to chuck E. Cheese with your husband and kids and you can't eat the 🍕 because of GERD as well as the choking phobia.... All you want to do is get the life back that you once had....

Sucks.....
Yep, you're absolutely correct. I have a swallowing problem that I need to attend to sometime soon, but I'm a vegetarian and rarely find anything to eat at such places. Can't blame it all on the anxiety I carry, but can identify with you. Anxiety is NOT a welcomed guest at the party. Hope you found a few moments of enjoyment when your kids did something funny that only a kid would do.
Hear you I have a choking phobia which means I'm afraid when I eat due to fear of choking on it
I am not afraid to swallow, actually can't and choke and have to run to the commode to upchuck as I feel like I'm choking......like noodles of any type, rice, fresh apple......found out both my brother and my younger sister went through this last year. A gastroenterologist had to actually use a procedure to gently stretch open a part of their throats that has just become smaller, tighter, as certain foods will stick and cannot "go on down the road". Never heard about this in my life. My sister is in her fifties, my brother is older. Runs in families.
No matter, try to relax tonight. Next time you go to ole Chucky Cheese, why don't you just throw a piece or two at something as you race outside the door for the get-a-way. Wouldn't that just help get even with the anxiety by having a moment or two of physical activity that is so juvenile???? xx
Hearyou yes when I play with my kids I get my mind cleared or ill watch a funny movie with them and I'm pretty good. My fear of eating starting from a bad experience when I was little but it went away after some time and I had a normal great life. When I developed anxiety and panic attacks almost 4 months ago,I sat to eat with my family and the thought "what if this gets stuck in my throat or I choke". Then it went to "I have to chew it to nothing or ill choke". Then I got GERD and it made it worse. My husband says my anxiety makes my mind think something is wrong with my throat that ain't but I don't know.
Oh, I understand. I have anxiety and thought that was what was causing me to choke. Won't know until I see a doctor about my situation if it's actually a physical issue or anxiety. Best wishes in your attempts to control your anxiety.
