For nearly a month now I have been having problems with my shoulder/back. It feels like someone has there hand under my shoulder blade and I get a tingling/tightness sensation with pains in my arm and shoulder blade.
I have also had pain in my left leg for a couple of years. And it really hurts to press on my spine in the bottom. Not sure if this is related.
I feel as though this could be something serious such as spinal cancer that has spread. Does anyone know what this could be?

I started having Severe Neck , inbetween shoulders and Under shoulder blade pain . I was Sent to Spinal Doctor . Chiropractor said " I can't Help You " . I have C 4-7 Herniated . It causes me to feel like my Neck is broken . My Head is sitting on my shoulders . And I have lumps in my Neck and Shoulders . My Spinal Doctor Suggested I see a Doctor to get tested for RA . I had been getting Radio Frequency Nerve Ablations . Where he burns to destroy the nerve endings sending Pain messages to my Spine . This started in 1999 . I kept complaining how bad I felt all over ( Joints and Muscles . Even on Pain Meds . I was diagnosed in 2005 with RA and didn't really take action for it until 2010 . It has now spread to my Lumbar Facets and Hips . I now Have a really Good Rhumatologist as well . Hopefully this Helps . We All are different for sure . And Hopefully I pray that they find out for You What it is ? I waited so long , and Have a lot of issues . Keep us Posted ? Hugs To You
At your age it may well be pressure on a nerve in your neck rather than arthritis. I had very similar symtoms for months - feelings of tightness/discomfort in my neck, pain under my shoulder blade and numbness/tingling in arm. I assumed it was a disc problem because I have had severe lower back problems in the past. I tried a Chiropractor with no results and then got a referral from my doc to physio clinic. After 3 sessions of traction things started to get better and eventually completely disappeared. I also had to do daily exercises to stretch and relax my neck muscles which I continue to do. Seems to keep the problem from recurring and also relaxes me.
Try stretching your neck - turning to side and forward and side stretches. Do your symtoms get worse? (I could induce the tingling by stretching in one particular direction) If so, your problem is likely related to pressure on a nerve.
Hnna posted a great link a few hours ago in a post called 'I found something that helped me with constant jaw and neck tension'. Or just google neck exercises. Many of us carry tension in our necks and upper back and often muscles tense up and put pressure on the nerves. I would suggest you try those stretches and if you have no improvement, ask a doctor for physio referral.
I went to the doctors today as it hasn't improved. He didn't know what to say. He's worried me even more infact as he said if it doesn't go in a few week then see him again to arrange a scan.
I'm terrified of tumours/cancer of the spine or even other cancers invading my shoulder and rib area.
