Tinnitus loud tonight, will it ever go ? Had it for 3 months.

My tinnitus tonight is very loud and a bit painful, also they keep popping. doctors said it's because of an middle ear infection, with fluid in my ears also sinus infection I'm starting to think that the noises will never go, I've never suffered with tinnitus before and I'm praying it won't be permitment.

I've had tinnitus for years and I'm pretty sure it's caused from years of being on a prescription medication. I always wear ear plugs if I'm going to a concert and never listen to my music turned up. It is terribly disheartening. I have to sleep with a fan on just to give my mind something else to concentrate on. Then again, it's my fault for not having visited a doctor about this yet...

Do ever have any like fluid coming out of hours ears? And have you still got it? it's a nightmare x

Hi Kayley12345,

I have never had tinnitus for 3 months continuously - mine comes and goes as my anxiety levels peak. It really is a damn nuisance and uncomfortable.

Have you made a follow up appointment with your doctor to confirm that your tinnitus is not caused by another illness or stress if it is not responding to treatment for an infection.

You may need an appointment with an ear, nose, and throat specialist (otolaryngologist) or an audiologist for further testing.

Hoping you get to the bottom of the it real soon

They have made an appointment for me to see an ENT. But I won't get my appointment until March. I also have swelling around my jaw, some doctors say it's an middle ear infection also sinus infection and some say it's because I'm suffering from a viral one. I just have no idea what's going on. I feel for you! I went on a flight with a cold and ever since then I have ringing in my left ear. It comes and goes but it happens everyday.

I also feel a ‘pop’ in my ear, especially when I yawn.

I have been to the drs 3 times about it & they keep trying to tell me its wax build up, they have gave me oils and ear sprays but 2 month later my ear feels the same!! I think they are missing an infection or something

It's very annoying and scary! I have doctors telling me different things. I've got the ringing in both ears! They also pop too. One doctor said my ears are fine and another said I've got an infection in both! Its all about finding a good doctor, which I'm struggling with!

Yeah the doctors don’t seem to take it seriously! I am going to make another appointment after the new year and if they don’t do anything I’ll have to look for a new doctor.

I hope it goes away for you soon! I don’t know how you feel having it in both ears! One ear is bad enough for me.

No they don't it seriously at all! I think that's a good idea. Keep asking each doctor to look into your ears and see what they Say. I'm hoping mine is sinus related because of my other symptoms I've got going on. And yeah it's pretty unbearable at times! My let ear is like a static noise and my right is a constant ringing! x

I will do. I hope they sort it out this time has the ringing drives me crazy when I’m trying to sleep.

I know how you feel, it drives me crazy too, I always end up looking on Google for my symptoms and make myself even worse! And thank you, I hope you get to the bottom of yours too! X

Hi Kayley. I'm sorry to hear about your tinnitus. I been dealing with it every day for 5 years. I hope you don'have to. My doctors don'really know what's causing it. Although, I think it's one of my medications. I had it so long, I just learned to live with it. I keep telling myself, at least it's not pain. But don' give up, someone will be able to help you, and I. I sure haven't given up, even after all this time

Hi, thanks for your reply, I'm sorry you had his for 5 years, i don't think I could cope with it long, i'm hoping mine is sinus related, if you haven't had any luck with your doctor you should see an ENT, I've got my appointment in March

Kaylee, I have seen an ENT. Still no luck to stop it. Why do you have to wait so long to see an ENT ?

Sorry to hear you had no luck with them. I have no idea, I first got told by one of the doctors from the hospital that they've made an urgent appointment for me and I'll get seen to within the month but obviously that didn't happen now I've got to wait until March x
