Hi I used to work in an A&E department. How can I help?

Hi Karen. Thanks for the reply. I’m just going to copy my last post if that is ok

I went for ecg Sunday, I had an endoscopy on Friday and since then have had some chest discomfort so thought id rather be safe than sorry. I was mildly hungover sunday which was making me shake as they couldn't get a proper reading - obviously you can imagine how worried I got when the nurse said "there is a lot of movement" I didn't know it could affect it so badly? we managed to get one and the senior consultant signed it off as fine (I should be happy right?) they then said they wanted me to have a chest xray and bloods taken. Bloods is normal I know but I think the xray must be because I had the endoscopy? I know they aren't trained but the xray person said nothing jumps out at her as abnormal in either my heart or lungs. The wait in a&e was 5 hours and after two hours I got a call from little bro who needed picking up and I was the only person available, so I left the hospital and told them and they made me sign a consent form (this worried me) I am just wondering if people know the procedure now, they said I can get my doctor to fax them the results but I am sort of hoping if anything DEADLY had come up then they would be inclined to let me know? What is your take on what happens after that

It is normal for them to ask you to sign yourself out if you want to leave before being discharged. And yes if there was anything serious in the test results they would have contacted you. Try not to worry although I know the anxiety makes us think differently. Also your GP can access the results so make an appointment to see them

Thanks for all your help Karen. I went to the doctors. They don’t have no results from the a&e. The endoscopy was perfect though. That’s good. But they have no news from a&e lol. Oh great why not!

Still no news Karen. All I have is a massive bruise on my hand where the took bloods. I have bad veins apparently

No you don’t have bad veins it’s just whoever took the bloods was crap at doing it. I wouldn’t worry they would have contacted you if there was anything wrong

Karen321, you took the words right out of my mouth. I started writing that and then took a step back. Good for you because there is a lot of truth in that. Believe me :) xx
