So today I woke up with an achy upper chest and my left shoulder is achy, I d Don’t do any exercise or anything to cause strain, was wondering if anyone else with gerd and bad panic attacks feels like they are having a heart attack when they have bad gerd symptoms and anxiety

Happens all the time for me
GERD/ IBS Triggers something in the Vagus nerve and I get PSVT's and then Panic sets in if it doesn't resolve within 10 minutes or so; Even if it does I fret about it.
Been checked many times ... just to reassure myself that its not something Cardio related
Sometimes though, I have the passing thought that the one time I write it off as a digestive issue , is going to be it .. [ thats the panic / anxiety part for me ]
So I said all that to let you know its not only you
I think its happening to many of us with GERD/ IBS/ Anxiety issues
One more thing. My sincerest apologies for not thinking of this earlier today .
Telling you it happens to many doesn't necessarily give you a path to explore for resolution of the event .
What has helped me for the PSVT / Anxiety issues are Epsom Salt baths. about 2 cups in a tub of moderately warm [ not scorching water] and just soak for about an hour.
Listen to music , read a book etc to pass the time.
If its a really bad episode I will use Magnesium Chloride flakes, also about 2 cups.
and when i get out will spray myself down with magnesium oil and rub it in .
Also I will dring a glass of water with Natural Calm w/ Calcium stirred in it [ Also a Magnesium thing to help balance my electrolytes ]
It has something to do with transdermally absorbing Magnesium .
Everyone is different. This works for me as I don't do well with supplements , but within a half an hour I can feel the stress and the anxiety fading away , if not completely , then to a manageable level
Truthfully this is just anecdotal evidence that I have found that works for me
