For the past 6 months I have been suffering from nerve symptoms, crawling sensation on my feet, parasthesia that keep switching places, shaky feeling at night, the symptoms differ from day to day. I also have severe health anxiety. Does these symptoms sound like MS?

I’m the same, have the same symptoms daily but I guess when I don’t think about them they are not there. Went Doctors he didn’t seem concerned to send me for a scan, did a nerve test and strength test with my legs and said I seemed ok, to come back if it carried on but didn’t bother wasting their time.

What symptoms do u have?

in reply toLhmo

Pins and needles in my legs, vibrating feet, muscle spasms all over my body but mainly behind my calf muscles, numbness in my butt, feet, hands. Burning sensation in my legs as well as something under your skin which I think that’s blood getting to that area. Shivers and some days I have all or one of these in different areas, mainly in bed at night.

Are you on any medication, I’ve been on citralopram had to stop taking it as it caused me same symptoms as you, I know how you feel xx

in reply toSixty4

No I’m not on any medication, I have good and bad days, if I get stressed it’s funny my feet start vibrating again but I just tell myself it’s anxiety. X

Hello

Have you been and spoken with your Doctor about these symptoms ?

Anxiety actually can cause these feelings but speaking with your GP will reassure you that this is the cause

I know what HA is like and sometimes rather than ask the Doctor we sit at home suffering but this won't stop until we get that reassurance that we have a clean bill of health so if you have not already speak with your doctor when they give you the all clear ask what Counselling they may be able to refer you for as you need to get to the bottom of your HA and how to cope with it

Let us know how you get on :-)

Take Care x

Once had a feeling that my hands are weak but my family doctor reassured my that there is no weaknesses . Since then I stopped going but my health anxiety is escalating

in reply toLhmo

You need to go back then and speak with them trust me :-)

I have been a life long HA sufferer and this won't get any better without some help :-)

We are hear to listen and try & reassure you but that reassurance only lasts a short while till we are panicking again and the reason we help if it be medication or therapy

Don't be afraid to tell them they do understand and will talk through the different treatments they have

Let us know how you get on :-) x

Dear Lord I can sympathize. If there is some sort of article that reads, 20 signs that you might have MS. I pretty much have all 20! Cognitive impairment, burning feet, numb sensations all over my body, feeling of weakness, muscle twitches, Frequent urination’s, Visual disturbances, difficulties walking or gait disturbance, widespread pain. In a nut shell it’s a freak show.

I’ve had two MRIs, Brain and cervical spine, also a EMG, blood and urine tests. It truly is destroying my life not knowing what is going on with me.

So sorry to hear :( since then all these symptomns pretty much stopped for me, one the anxiety was under control and I was also put on a beta blocker. Knock on wood little over a year later and all is going smooth. I do have my days still but can handle them much better. Feel better soon

in reply toMpa5524

Thank you. I’m now on a beta blocker too...propranolol. The twitches are really worrying me, I hope they go.

Have u ever been diagnosed?

No, years ago I had emg tests by a neurologist and last year my dad passed away and I had weird vision episode, so I was sent for a MRI that was normal. Had Lyme test that was also neg. Our family has a long history of anxiety disorders

in reply toautumnthebrat2

Was the EMG for muscle twitches? I may need referring for one.

Yes, don't be afraid of muscle twitches, I had them on and off for years. Stress, coffee, over stimulation of nervous system or even mineral deficiency can cause them.

in reply toautumnthebrat2

Did you have them mainly all over your legs? I have a few here and there in my upper arms and get an odd one here and there in the midsection of my body.

Thank you.

Yes, sometimes my eyelids, eardrums, basically anywhere

I’m petrified that it might be motor neurone as my dad was diagnosed in October. I didn’t have this before his diagnosis and since that my stress and anxiety has been through the roof, so I’m hoping that’s all it is. I saw the dr on Friday and he said he thinks it’s anxiety but if I still have symptoms when I see him on the 31st he’ll refer me to a neurologist for an EMG...to reassure me more than anything.

that's a very rare disease and what is the likelihood you both have it. Given your dad's recent diagnosis, i'm sure you are under a lot of stress overstimulating your nervous system. Having testing done is going to amplify this even more. I'm sure it is anxiety, but if it eases your mind, then have the testing done. Keep in mind it takes awhile for the body and the mind to calm down, so even after the testing, you may have some lingering sensory symptoms till your system starts normalizing. Good luck and relax!

in reply toautumnthebrat2

Thank you @autumnthebrat2, I really hope that’s all it is. I thought the same also, what are the chances of me and my dad having it at the same time!

I saw a post elsewhere today when I was checking out the dreaded Google and it was like a wave of fear came over me, it was strange.
