Hi Vitonyc, I'd ask how you are doing but I hear your concern. I've had numbers all over the place when stressed or in an anxiety mode. I mean we are talking high 100's for Systolic and mid 100's for diastolic. I know it is temporary until I can pull myself together. I start my deep breathing and relaxation methods to calm my mind and body which brings the pressure down. Someone on the forum said that bananas lower blood pressure (because of the potassium) so I eat a banana for extra good measure.
I go onto YouTube...type in Audio Meditation/Deep Breathing 5-10 minute videos. Vito it can work wonders. Pay attention to the calming voice in the video. Transport your mind into that video listening to the words and watching the calming scenery of rippling water, soft rain etc.
Then retake your pressure. The readings will drop significantly after calming down.
Unless the b/p stays in high numbers, no harm is done. As a matter of fact, most people with severe high blood pressure over 220 top number 150 plus low number, have no symptoms what so ever until it's checked out. Try not to worry that will just keep the numbers up. You are okay.
Hey agora!! Thanks my friend I will do that. So the doctor in the hospital cleared everything so I’m on the way out of here. What a day from having HB and chest pain wow what a scary feeling that you was!! But again thank you for the positive feedback you’re amazing 😉
Hi Vitonyc,
Always see a doctor to get an idea of what your baseline blood pressure (BP) is and your heart health.
It would be wrong to say that this rise in BP cannot be dangerous, because if you have heart disease it's important to keep a healthy heart rate. Anxiety can cause a rapid heartbeat, which leads to higher BP and could in theory exacerbate a heart condition. That's why it's always important to talk to a doctor and get checked out regardless of your anxiety.
Anxiety doesn't cause long-term high BP (hypertension). Episodes of anxiety can cause dramatic, temporary spikes in your BP. This is most common in the early stages of anxiety or during panic attacks. The body is so remarkable that people who experience anxiety for hours on end actually find that their blood pressure adjusts to that anxiety, which ultimately means that it goes back to a base level (what's normal for you).
It's really about you making changes to manage your stress/anxiety to control the spikes in your BP :).
I have put an excellent reference that I found for you in the link below.
Hi VItonyc, glad to read you're ok. My BP has often been 165/100 despite being on a high dose of Azidem. Being stressed will always raise your BP so please try to relax best you can. I hope the stress & anxiety eases and all goes well for you. You did right calling the Ambulance as you were obviously getting stressed about the BP. So pleased the Drs cleared you. Take care xxx
I'm just going through the same...Dr says she thinks it's anxiety...got go see the nurse in a week get bp checked again...maks me mad as I keep myself fit, circuit training and that 😕
Hey everyone thanks for the kind words!!! Yea stress has a lot to do with it also the anxiety can raise the blood the doctor said, But the doctor cleared me last night and said everything is good did a blood test two times to make sure and heart monitor and ekg were normal. Thank god 🙏🏻 now back to my normal crazy life 😝
