My Mom. I believe her high blood pressure was triggering the anxiety.

Hmmm can you inquire about Xanax instead of the prozac? Just curious. I'm not sure if it would make a difference.

It's a medication for anxiety and panic disorder.

I'm hoping the new blood pressure medicine will help me this time.

Yes but propanolol gave me terrible side affects that are still a problem and now they are giving me a new blood pressure medicine. I'm trying it even though I don't feel properly informed to really do so. I know I'm allergic to slot of meds but I was desperate and trying to feel better and went against what I know works for me and it's hell. Be careful to start meds without any support of people who will listen to you and niece you when it doesn't do you a bit of good and side affects than are dangerous and not a joke and not in your head. You know what you feel and I hope you have someone who will help, listen, support and believe you.

What blood pressure medicine did they give you. I'm sure I would have been doing OK with just African and would of gotten through this spell of anxiousness, plus I didn't want to move away etc etc, but the meds they gave me have screwed me up bad, anyone out there go through this. I was okay just a year ago as far as I had no anxiety or headaches every day, hardly ever and now my brain hurts so bad I'd rather not be here to feel like I will stroke out any minute and know it's serious to have these symptoms, especially from meds etc and symptoms I didn't have and wasn't even thinking of

In the United States due to successful lobbying by the pharmaceutical industry normal blood pressure was reduced to 120 over 70. In the U.K. normal blood pressure is up to 140 over 90. So if you're an American with high blood pressure, ie over 120/70, come and live in the U.K. and your high blood pressure is cured.

I have 'white coat syndrome' so pop half a xanax before doctor's visit! BP is always o.k. then.

b.t.w I also take a low dose of Amlor (family history).

a calcium channel blocker.........'Amlodipidine' . I take 5mg. lowest dose, anything higher turned me into a zombie.

I take that

I find it crazy that people are placed on blood pressure tablets because of elevated levels due to stress when all they need do is take magnesium, magnesium reduces anxiety as well as high blood pressure !!.

in reply to

Can this be got from a chemist?

Holland and Barrett is the best place and get an oil spray it's fairly cheap. If you want tablet form then get magnesium glycinate which is for anxiety and depression. A chemist may sell it, but before you buy look at the ingredients and if it says magnesium oxide or it says bufferd, do not buy it.

The one I take is called Dr' s best chelated, try Amazon.

Go slow with it at first with small doses, one spray or a quarter tablet a day.

Ok thanks for the info 👍🏻😉

You're welcome bud. If you decide to take it then make sure you take a multi vitamin with iron daily, it helps as well.

I suffer with bouts of depression and severe anxiety and thought Magnessium sounded good. Googled it and it said it can cause loose stools. I have this problem and take pro biotics so does the oil spray still cause this problem . From Lin

Thanks for your advice , will give it a try .

Citrate will give loose stools, glycinate not so much. Oil by passes the gut completely, so yeah you avoid loose stools. I take glycinate and only half a tab a day at 50mg, I don't get loose stools.
