Drop dead feeling again
You may be calm, avahxo, but your nervous system remains sensitised. This is the reason you continue to get bad feelings even though you feel calm right now. Nervous sensitisation can't be switched on and off like a light bulb: it took many months of stress etc to get your nerves into this state so you must allow some time to recover.
So the answer to your question is Yes, it is anxiety and No you're not goingto die. You now know why you have these feelings of death, it's just the exaggeration of the normal instinct for self preservation magnified ten times = feelings of imminant doom. But thosr feelings are false, your nerves are playing tricks on you, this bad feeling is purely down to a couple of chemicals in your nervous system being in the wrong place. That's all.
The way out is to stay calm as you're doing now and to accept the bad feelings without fear because fear fuels nervous sensitivity. And any way you know the reason for the bad feelings and that you can recover. So accept, utterly accept, all the tricks your nerves play on your mind and body and begin to attach less importance to them.
Acceptance is of course the method for recovery that Claire Weekes devised and advocates in her book 'Self help with your nerves'. The American edition is titled 'Hope and help for your nerves' and if you read the 500+ reader reviews on amazon.com you would find that 50% of the reviewers said "the book saved my life."
You can pick up a used copy on Amazon for a couple of pounds/dollars: if it only saves your life once it's worth it☺
