When we hear people refer to "anxiety"....is there anyone who would describe it as "FEAR"? An overwhelming feeling of the worse possible case scenario, the END, death, something you cannot control. It's gone beyond the point of "anxiety". Do you really think this FEAR can be controlled or over come? If it cannot, then is this how we must live out the rest of our life? I had a month plus of feeling fairly good, mind you I have no idea as to why. Now I'm back to FEAR again. It is so frustrating, embarrassing & irksome. Is there hope?

If you can identify what triggers your anxiety-then that's a start. It could be thoughts, memories, a smell etc. That alerts the body to danger then the symptoms emerge. It is not always easy to recognise your triggers but eventually you will. Maybe will the help of a therapist. I call it fear sometimes . I'm not sure about a cure as it depends on what it is that's frightening you. But you can learn to manage it better and ask for support.

What triggers "my" FEAR is thoughts of death and ill health. Yes we will all pass away, its a matter of how, why, when where....fast, slow, painful, ....FEAR I have been going to a physciatrist for over 15 yrs. He certainly hasn't "cured" me....not sure there is a cure. Medications, books, classes, support groups, acupuncture, natural "cures", RMT, all to no avail I agree Tanae, it's FEAR that is keeping us feeling the panic...not anxiety....panic!

I would identify it as fear because it seams like the fear is what's keeping us in a state of panic or feeling uncomfortable which the Drs are labeling as anxiety.
