My eye dr told me anxiety constricts blood vessels whichs causes these symptomns
Hi Ahuesca, actually it's not all that difficult to understand once you do know the physical reason for those symptoms regarding the eyes.
When we go into the fight or flight mode, our pupils dilate making them sensitive to light and brightness. *just like when the eye doctor puts those drops in your eyes so he can better examine the backs of your eyes. The reading of anything gets blurrier as well as driving home can be a problem w/o using sun glasses. It can even leave your eye lids heavy and achy.
Anxiety can also cause tight facial muscles which also affect the eye muscle. When the muscles in the eyes constrict it cause vision problems of blurriness. If you've ever notice, when stressed about going out, your vision will be blurrier. But once you get back home in your safety zone, your eyes are once again clear. That's because you nervousness has settled down.
Always though, have your eyes checked for any problems that don't go away.
Hope that helps some
It's funny that you say that because after an anxiety or panic Attack i feel so drained that i can barely keep my eyes open. all that adrenaline rush makes me exhausted. It's so hard to try to explain to other people but I'm sure you guys know exactly what I'm talking about.
We sure do JoseLuis25, Anxiety itself is so draining and after an attack, it completely wipes you out. Hey, that was a lot of hard work your body went through. Unnecessary work which gets us no where, but work. It is impossible to explain to other people what we feel so why even try. Come to the forum, we are your true friends in anxiety.
Its not even about that because I look fine on the outside but I'm dying on the inside. The thing is that I'm a very strong person and I really hate showing weakness but that's just me. I hate looking broken and sometimes I feel like I'm in a thousand pieces and all people will see is an illusion of perfection. I'm sure you all have gone through similar issues and can agree with me.
