Are you finding anything that helps ? I've had it for 6 months as well on a daily basis

Just forcing myself to do the same things I use to do before this hell started. And blocking dissociative attacks all day. It's hell. I just went on medication 4 days ago and I'm hoping it helps.

When my Pure-O OCD exploded I had some bad dissociation from the constant stress and it felt like nothing was real.

Did it go away? What helped?

I was able to pretend I was someone else and ignore the reality of my own life. Reality has started to set in and my symptoms r screaming at me.

I was told I suffer from derealization. What have your symptoms been lately?!

I disconnect from everything for hours . Dnt remember anything , a lot of thoughts going thru my mind all at once

I slip into dissociation very easily...its as easy for me to do as it is to breathe in and out. I am aware of it now tho n wen i c I'm doin it I pull myself into reality by grounding myself. I've been disocciating since very young. 😊💛💚💛💚

Are you on any anxiety medication ?

When you dissociate what does it feel like? For me, it's more derealization. Not depersonalization. So if I'm driving (usually alone) my surroundings start to look unfamiliar but it's weird bc I always know who I am and where I am they just look different. Does that happen to you?

It's like my brain is in a fog , like a dream state . I know who I am and where I am . Just very very anxious , paranoid , and my brain is on hyper speed

I'm on 2 drugs which help with anxiety . Gabapentin to treat my fibro pain but which also treats anxiety and quetiapine. 😊💛💚💛💚

I'm so happy to hear that you are able to manage it with grounding techniques . I've tried the grounding techniques , none of them work for me . But I feel with the medication that I am on the disassociation isn't lasting as long , I've only been on the medication for 4 wks and they say it can take up to 6 wks , so hoping it gets even better

What medication are you on?

I was on Paxil for 30 years , wasn't working so they just put me on Zoloft 150 mg .

I just started on Prozac 20 mg. My anxiety has decreased slightly but I have really bad OCD and continue to think/worry about the derealization, which doesn't help. It's a vicious cycle. I'm thinking they are gonna have to bump me up to 40mg.

We're you ever on an anxiety medication before ? I was on the Paxil for 30 years and it worked anazing for 30 years ! And I have OCD as well so the Paxil will help with that too . When did u start the Paxil ?

No, I have never been on any medication before. I took a Xanax here and there back in the day. My anxiety comes in waves. I haven't always felt anxious throughout the years but I have been hit pretty hard with it at times in my life. My OCD has been really bad for years though. Within the last year I have been experiencing the derealization. Not all the time but enough to scare me. I'm not sure if my anxiety and OCD just reached a point where my brain couldn't handle it anymore or what but it's unsettling when I get that feeling. I started Prozac almost 3 weeks ago. I mostly experience it at work and when I'm driving home from work so maybe that's my answer 😕.
