I get health anxiety and it drives me crazy. I know better but can't control the thoughts. What things do you try to calm yourself?

Just try to accept the anxiety attack and let it happen it lasts for a minute but I get them 7 or 8 times a day and the Worst one is when you’re trying to sleep and it happens that’s the most difficult one

That is. I've had waves literally come up my body and through my chest over and over of adrenaline. The worst. I wish I knew my cause as well. I use to be so 'normal'.

That's the secret of de-sensitising nervous systems, acceptance, utter acceptance, but it takes practice and persistance. Acceptance properly applied always succeds.

I'll tell you what causes your anxiety to happen without warning, your nervous system became over sensitised a while back and this sensitivity is maintained by stress, strain and fear. So you may well be free of anxiety for a time but your nerves are still sensitive and can create the symptoms of anxiety at any time out of the blue. And it will go on happening until you take active steps to de-sensitise your nervous system by denying it the fear which fuels it.

Okay Jeff it’s easy said than done and I’m trying my best to control myself but when it happens out of the blue I can’t do nothing but just to Excepted It

No not easy Mo and it doesn't give immediate results. After all you probably spent months if not years acquiring anxiety disorder so it's not going to yield in 36 hours. If you can start by 'glimpsing' Acceptance for a few seconds, a few minutes to begin with you can build on that. It's all in Doctor Claire Weekes' famous book 'Self help for your nerves' written decades ago.
