What med are you guys taking?

I am taking Prozac 20 mg and Xanax. however my anxiety is not going away and I am isolated from others by my own will. I have so soft mental status. Want to be stronger but it's hard.

How long are you on the meds, why are you thinking isolating yourself is going to help. Have you talked to your doctor?

yes. but seeing a doctor is only limited to 15 min per visit. could not solve my issues. I changed to Prozac from Cymbalta. So I feel more anxious, i dont know it's because of my med or my situations.

Cymbalta is sometimes rx for depression, along with Wellbutrin.

Prozac is also sometimes rx for depression or panic disorders.

I do well on Xanax for anxiety and panic.

But how the chemistry of anti-anxiety meds and depression meds work together in unusual ways in my mind, because my knowledge of the chemistry of pharmaceuticals is limited. I trust my doctor, so I'm fortunate in that respect. Xanax is sometimes rx for anxiety.

Perhaps your body is responding to Prozac as an anti-depressant, but you are not taking anything for anxiety?

So the doctor is only doing a "med check" and you need more help than that. Are you able to secure a therapist for talk and education sessions?

The medication question is interesting because each person's metabolism either accepts or rejects a particular drug differently. Your doctor makes the decision on your particular symptoms.

I can say with a fair degree of certainty that medication alone is not the answer.

A clinical psychologist who has an interest in anxiety disorders is worth their weight in gold. The psychologist will help you address the reasons for the anxiety and give you tools to combat it when it raises it's ugly head.
