Time off anxiety

Hello, I am new to this site and I was wondering if anyone else struggled with taking time off? I am a college student and my program goes through the summer, I haven't taken time off for months and just asking for 2 weeks is hard. It makes me very anxious and I feel guilty for it. I feel as though I don't deserve a break, if anyone has suggestions on how to accept time off I would be more happy to listen !

Time off is very important for physical and mental health. We all need to recharge and come back fresh. It's not selfish it's part of keeping yourself in top shape to do your best at college so no need to feel guilty. X X X

Thank you! I know it'll do my mental health good, but I feel as though my program disproves of anyone taking time off and sometime use it against students who happen to fall behind (including me).

Please make use of the student assistance program (SAP) to flag your needs. Definitely use the SAP if taking time off is going to count against you. It is more difficult to make your case retrospectively if you have failed to ask for some reasonable accomodations.

I don't think there is anything wrong with taking 2 weeks off, especially if it is affecting your health. You don't want to have a mental break down. Talk to someone at your school, such as an advisor maybe they can help it not count against you instead of taking a break and not telling anyone.
