Just wanted people to share their experiences with acupuncture I have never done it before but have been interested to see if it will yield any good results with my neck tension and migraines

Is it rubbish or does it actually work ?

Cheers

I have not tried it yet but it has been recommended to me to see if it will help my anxiety since I am pregnant and can't really take any meds. Well I can but my OB would prefer that I didn't.

So I am curious as well to know if it has helped anyone.

Hi Curtis33, no it is not rubbish but like anything else each person gets different results. As for myself, it was very successful for my neck tension and migraines. I went weekly for about 6 months. Go with an open mind that it will work. The room I was in was dimly lit and serene. Once the needles are placed, you go into complete relaxation which is a good time to take in the peace and calm you are feeling. It can help anxiety as well. The downfall is that it is costly since not covered under insurance. But as they say, there are some things you cannot put a price on. Ridding yourself of migraines was one of them for me. Best of luck Keep us updated.

I was about to do this 2 weeks ago. I was told by a friend that she used to suffer from depression and anxiety. She went and got seen 3x a week then it gradually went down to once a week but it worked wonders for her. She claimed it helped with the tension on her neck and back and it calmed her down. I called here and i found out it was $55/hour session. Was about to make that appoibtment but it dawned on me that there was one advice my doctors gave me and even my family and friends : exercise! So i went to the gym daily since last thursday, just treadmill and then sauna. It helped a LOT. I like to think im sweating out the toxic from my brain. It is so nice to be motivated to go. Back then i resented going to the gym because most people go to lose weight or trim down. Now i dont care about my weight, i just wanna sweat it out because i noticed the difference. Its huge. Im happier. I can sense the negative thinking is trying to creep back but its no longer associated with the anxious feeling which is great. If ever you try accupuncture please let us know how it went. All the best to you Curtis33. Smile :)

I'll be sure to let you know thanks for your response I might get back into the gym again I know there is a huge link between excercise and chemical reactions in the brain most importantly serotonin I believe it's called

😊😊
