So for about a week or so now I've had this weird urge to move various facial muscles around. For instance, I'll have this urge to move my mouth back and forth, raise my eyebrows, roll my eyes up, stuff like that. Like a part of my face will feel weird and I'll stimulate that muscle. I don't really feel numb anywhere. I did notice that when i smile (no teeth) the right side of my mouth is open slightly and it never used to be. The other side of my smile looks like it might be starting to do the same thing. I also noticed that my right (dominant) hand feels weaker than usual and it's harder to make a fist. I don't really have any symptoms other than these ones. I guess I should also note that for a long time I had trouble getting deep breaths, a symptom i always wrote off as anxiety, and almost as soon as that went away the symptoms i wrote about above showed up. Could this just be anxiety representing itself in a different form? Is this something more, like MS or ALS? Should I be worried?

Weird symptoms. Anxiety or something else?
Hi,
Thank you for sharing your story. Based on what I know, it's definitely time to visit the doctor to get these symptoms checked out. You may have a mental health condition but you may have something more physical going on. Either way, it's a win-win. You will have a diagnosis and can get started on a treatment plan. Just book a longer than usual consult so that you can cover all the bases.
I had similar symptoms where various parts of my head and face had uncontrollable twitching for no reason. Mostly it was annoying because I would cause my ears to wiggle without thinking about it. I found that this was OCD. This was many years ago and I took some tranquilizers for a while and at the same time practiced meditation to become aware of what I was doing and when. It took about a year but, with my new self awareness I was able to control these urges. I still get some twitching with my nose because I wear glasses. But now I can control it much better. I also have anxiety and now take Xanax for it and this has helped more than anything else. Hopefully you don't have anything more serious and I wish you the best in recovery from it.
