You're an hour ahead of me. Last night I fell asleep around midnight and woke up around 10 (I was really sleep deprived) so i think I overdid it with sleep, alcohol, and coffee yesterday too.

How are you? Lol

So you should feel super awesome. I may be drinking wine which affects my mood :) I slept all day, my sleep is off. My work messes with my sleep.

I mean the guys that invented apple phones, Facebook, and all the media stuff life ain't what it used to be, like when I was a kid you did an call anyone until you got home ,the phone was on the wall, it didn't go with you. And you couldn't ask google nothing it didn't exist.

in reply to kinikia95

I had a few drinks midday so the effects wore off well before nighttime unfortunately. I thought I'd sleep well tonight since I did so much work earlier too.

Do you work overnights?

in reply to kinikia95

You can't sleep either?

Hello 👋

I didn't sleep last night, now it's 10:20 am but I feel ok, I'll be very tired later on.

Is it over thinking that is keeping you awake?

I have a few things to do but I can talk at the same time.

in reply to

I'm not necessarily anxious overthinking but I just can't sleep or get comfortable

in reply to

Just one of those nights then. What do you usually do to pass the time when you can't sleep?

in reply to

Usually read or something, maybe watch tv or bake something. Tonight I've just been on my phone all night, I know the light keeps you awake, bad habit, but I'm staying at my grandparents place for a few days and didnt want to wake anyone

in reply to

I do same except I don't bake during the night. What do you bake?

in reply to

Usually peanut butter or sugar cookies because thats usually all i have ingredients for lol

in reply to

Lol

And does it turn out good?

in reply to

Oh yes! Lol

in reply to

I try to bake bread sometimes but it doesn't always work out lol any tips?

in reply to

I've never made bread, usually just the frozen stuff that just has to rise then cook. My mom has a good ssourdough rexipe though. I should attempt it

in reply to

Give it a go and if it doesn't turn out like a brick then you will have done better than me 😀

When I was in high school I would always fall asleep around 10:30 and wake up at 6 every day and feel great. I miss that so much. Even with 8 hours of sleep I always feel like death

They say not to watch tv but I found the sleep timer. It's on even the oldest tvs but I had to make myself use it. It sounds simple but it really works. Also my kindle has a "blue shade" option.

in reply to kinikia95

What's the blue shade option? I wish I still had Netflix because watching Bob Ross always helped me sleep! Interesting and relaxing and he has such a soothing voice. It's silly but it really worked

Can't promi to always be around when you guys are but I'll always respond immediately I get any msg. Since my brain injury my sleep pattern has gone totally out of the window. It's like working shifts but I've the luxury of being able to work from home when necessary which plays its part in tiring my little grey cells!

in reply to Finglas-Boy

Those little grey cells do need tiring 😀

Hi, if you want good sleep at night then it's very important what you do during the day to no surprise.

You need to get your circadian stable again.

Best thing you can do is go for a walk/jog for 20 minutes around 7-8am in the morning. Morning/early day sunshine and just being in sunshine or daylight during the day is very important for the release of melatonin later in the day which induces the desire to rest and sleep.

People often skip the hardwork and take melatonin supplements which is from cow piss. However, getting your body naturally balanced and working right again is the best thing to do.

It's not an instant fix either but expect good results in a weeks time.

Having no sleep pattern works for me in many ways. My work is on a "Total-Flexi" basis in that I'm contracted to a 47.5 hr week & how those are accrued is entirely up to me. So if I can't sleep @ 3 am I can go down to my desk, switch on the laptop & tackle a project. Any hrs I work over can be taken as paid or time in lieu so worked right it can amount to a day off each month.
