There are a heap of natural remedies in your pharmacy. The most researched and seemly the best of them is St Johns Wort which is reported to work in similar way to antidepressants. If you take it and then need prescription meds, you must let your doctor know.

Before you take anything, I would strongly urge that you speak to the pharmacist who is well qualified to offer professional advice.

I am curious that you have been recommended to talk to a psychiatrist.

Are you doing any talking therapies with a psychologist?

Yes I am but I was recommended by a social worker to talk to a psychiatrist because a week ago I had a panic atack that brought me to the hospital. I just don't want to be pressured into meds yet & want to deal w my health issues because then maybe my anxiety will decrease

Hey that's great. Actually, thinking back to my first hospital visit with anxiety, I think one of the doctor's I saw the consultant psychiatrist. I just can't be sure because I was so stressed out and everything was a blur for 24 hours.

Lemon balm is a perennial garden plant that has been used for many hundreds of years to give relief from anxiety either by chewing the leaves or making a tea with them. You can also buy them dried, also called verbana. Then there is Green Tea to counteract the effects of cortisol which peaks in the blood stream around 8a.m.

Green tea has caffeine in it so not always good if you are caffeine sensitive.

I don't believe that sensitivity to caffeine exists, Aazz, I think it's a myth. There are so many people claiming to be sensitive to caffeine I think it's another anxiety delusion. Only my opinion, of course.

Hi, chamomile tea is very calming to the nerves. Add a bit of honey and enjoy

Magnesium is probably No1 for anxiety and depression.

Check out what bananas do for anxiety along with other foods. I never took meds for mine and I am fine now. Also exercise.
