How many people on this forum was diagnosed with an underlying issue causing their anxiety symptoms... and how was it found? For the most part I'm fine but it's the sensations I get that are worrying me.

Hi, I had blood work done & they tested cortisol levels. That is your "fight or flight" hormone produced by the adrenal glands. Mine were high so they did an ultra sound & found a nodule on my one adrenal gland. They then did a CAT and again it showed up as a "fatty mass". I am now waiting to see an endocrinologist. I have no idea what to expect.

Wow that's unfortunate but you're getting somewhere now. This may be the beginning to your healing process. I really think I need to get checked for something. I had a lot of blood work to rule out infections/viruses etc.

I don't know yet when I will get in with the endoctrinologist. Of course I'm what ifing already! I honestly don't know how I would handle the panic/fear if surgery was needed. Just the thought of being in a hospital terrifies me.
